Tight Arse Control4 Integration

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

As we develop more and more drivers for IoT devices it has become apparant that you can now integrate alot of sub systems using off the shelf budget concious parts.  I thought i would throw this thread up for those who want the bells and whistles without the cost associated.  Note product pricing is at the time of writing this.  This is only a small selection of the drivers we develop.  Marking my favorites with Alan's Pick. Feel free to add to the thread (doesn't have to be our drivers).

Any locks that might look good on my front door other than the Baldwin? I don’t want a keypad - but I want a deadbolt I can lock/unlock. I want a good looking door handle. Do I find something Z-Wave and try to integrate that way? This needs to be easier.

Have you looked at the August locks? Would preserve the outdoor appearance of your current lock with no need to change the handle (assuming your handle and deadbolt are separate) and there's a C4 driver for them.

I'm considering just going with a Schalge Z-Wave deadbolt for one of my doors since i don't want to drop the outrageous amount of money for another Yale Assure with the C4 Zigbee module.

@alanchow I have the TP Link driver and a HS200 in wall switch. After getting the driver installed and verified, the switch will turn the light on, but not turn it off via composer. It will not take any commands via the Control4 app. Any thoughts? Running OS3.0

Have the TP-Link driver bound to a Outlet Light driver? I just put 5 in today and they all work great.

HVAC

Does this work on both temperature flavors. F and C? I recall an older thread requiring C as the operating temp of the system for a external HVAC control.

What is the driver use when using a HS220 for dimming? The outlet driver works, just doesn't allow for any dimming control.

You use the HS220 driver for dimming with the HS220 product.

Most HVAC Systems talk internally via Celcius.  As such we send the values in Celcius but round it up to the nearest whole degree.  With Fahrenheit this may jump up in steps of 2 degrees.

Is there a driver for those?

Alan with this driver where does the video get saved once the motion detection is triggered? Is It on the memory card ? if so can you access the video through C4?

Cheers

I don't think you can access recordings through C4.  You'll need a local SD card in the camera.  PTZ also doesn't work great with this driver at the moment if that is something you require.
