GotZoom76 Posted August 26, 2019 Share Posted August 26, 2019 Hello Everyone, Hope I can get some assistance here with regards to my Control 4 System and the required updates. I am currently running a very old version, probably from 2012-2013 and of course I am having issues with it and the ability to use the updated mobile app. My device list is as follows in case anyone was wondering.. Sony 5800 Receiver with built in controller, (2) Original 7" Video Tough Screens, (1) Original 7" Portable Touch Screen, (1) Original Door Bell with Camera and Audio, Kwikset Lock, (5) Dimmer Switches (3 in one Zone and 2 in another), Control 4 Thermostat. Software Version currently running is 2.4.0. I do have an extra HC-250 laying around that I have also though about using instead of the Sony but haven't made it that far. The company that I purchased from is no longer in business and the next closest is 3 hours away. I have sent a message to them but no reply yet, it has been about 2 weeks now. I actually worked for the previous company and they installed composer on one of my older laptops. Can this be used to update the software? Even if it could, I am not sure I want to go messing around in there without help. Looking for recommendations or suggestions on how I can get my system updated without having to pay for an additional 3 hour one way travel charge. Thanks in advance! GotZoom76 Posted August 27, 2019 Author Share Posted August 27, 2019 So I was able to enlist the help from a dealer. Only issue now is that my controller is offline so not able to remote access. GotZoom76 Posted August 28, 2019 Author Share Posted August 28, 2019 Thanks everyone! I’ve had it with the Sony. Great receiver but the controller is trash. I was able to find my original program file and the dealer that is helping me was able to load it onto an HC-250 and it worked. Was able to unregister the Sony and register the 250 so now I just need to hook it all up. Dealer has been fantastic so far considering I’m 3 hours away. Thanks again! knowitall Posted August 29, 2019 Share Posted August 29, 2019 Don’t knock the HC-250-BL-1 i am almost 7 years running strong! Could care less about 3.0 as my controller does lights and two TV’s. It’s my understanding that it was included with a 4sight subscription. I no longer have that but should I still have HE or do I need to purchase that?
