chopedogg88
The issue is that if your Dots happen to upgrade to the latest firmware, then the driver will stop working and you'll need to use the v2 driver to work on the new firmware (for Gen 2 Dots) and/or Gen 3 echo devices. As of now (due to some changes Control4 made on their end with the way data is stored on the controller), you'll need to uninstall the old v110/180 driver and then add the v2 driver. We are working on writing a conversion so that the driver can be upgraded "in-place" but no guarantee on that. v180 driver works fine in OS3 as long as the Dot being used for driver communication is on the old firmware (641575220). v2 works on firmware 644580520
dcovach
And what about gen 1 echo dots? V2?

Any thoughts? The driver is probably still the v180 driver. For some reason it has been a bit tricky getting the new v2 driver to take. Try right-clicking on the driver and selecting update driver, then browse to the new v2 driver file (amazon_echo.c4z). You should see "Last Communication" as one of the driver properties, instead of "Triggers Discovered". If not, you are still on v180. Happy to do a TeamViewer to help get you sorted. Also the v2 driver requires OS 3.0. Please don't upgrade to 3.1 as we haven't yet tested on that version.

dcovach
If its impossible for you to find one, I don't mind sending one that's been updated to latest firmware.
drmark12pa
I updated my system to 3.1 late last night and am currently running 180 Epic driver and the voice commands all seem to work just fine this morning FYI
C4CA
How about v2 working with multiple echos and multiple accounts in sane project any update on this ?
chopedogg88
not yet. we are prioritizing working on getting the driver to be able to be updated in-place, as this affects pretty much everyone who owns the driver, vs. a small percentage of people who are using the multiple echos on multiple accounts feature. We will hit that after.
C4CA
Will V2 work with multiple echos on one account?

mav3r1ck
Nice to see things are working on OS3.x but what about us using HC800's HC250's etc running 2.10.6 using V180 or V110 of the driver? My echo's have updated to the latest version, so .. now what?
zaphod
Exactly - I am like mav3r1ck. I have a variety of gens of Echo Dots (gen 1-3 I think) and I am running driver 110 on C4 OS 2.10.5. Some of my commands work but most do not. Any ideas how to get everything working again?
Topfox
My whole setup is a mess now. For the amazon stuff I loaded in the new driver and did the trigger discovery and it only found one. My multi screen driver is no longer doing screen swaps. And now FIOS gave me this TV One Minis that I can only get two devices to actually register. Wtf.

Topfox
It was painful, but finally just deleted everything in Composer, and Alexa I’m relation to the driver/confit and redid it all. Luckily for me most of the stuff I never used anyways (could never remember what I named everything) so ended up being a forcing clean up function. But alas I’m up and running again. mat33333
Where can I find the V2 driver? When I right-click on the driver and click "Update driver", it is looking in the local computer.
chopedogg88
https://www.epic-systems.com/products/amazon-echo-driver-for-control4 Download links at the bottom of the page. We are working on a version which runs on OS 2.10.6 and supports the latest Echo firmware. For now, you must be on OS3+ mav3r1ck
mat33333
Thanks - When I try and update the driver in HE, I'm getting an error "Unable to update. Reason: Broker". Any ideas why I'm getting this error?
chopedogg88
As far as I know you cannot update drivers in HE. You need a dealer with Composer pro. If you PM me I can help you out. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
