Wiring a sprinkler system into IO Extender.

Question

Hello, I am looking to control my sprinkler system through control 4. I had someone wire it but it doesn’t work and it looks horrendous.

It is currently plugged into the IO extender. I wanted to be sure the wiring was correct first and also see if there is some kind of connector that will allow for a cleaner looking final product. I saw some RS232 adapters that might help but I’m not sure.

I have a 4 zone sprinkler system and each zone can run 1 at a time instead of all at once. It has a 24volt A/C power supply, my research tells me that I only need about 200ma to open each solenoid.

I have attached a picture.

Those db9 connectors are not going to work since that is serial control. I think you are better off installing a rachio system and integrating c4 with it but it could be done with the relays on the controller

Yea. You are right. I was wrong that’s actually the back of the EA5. Does that sound more like it??

They never told me about Rachio. Let me see what I can find in google about that. Is that just stand alone wireless module or something?
