Downgrading your Apple TV 4K

If you installed tvOS 13 on your Apple TV 4K, you're out of luck. There is no way to downgrade your Apple TV to an earlier version of tvOS. The reason: The Apple TV 4K doesn't include the necessary USB-C port to allow you to connect it to your Mac, and Apple doesn't provide an over-the-air restore image for the most recent public version of tvOS.

It looks like tvOS 13 does break integration with the Gen3 model.  The driver fails to initialize and pair, for me anyway. I am on C4 OS 3.1 with the Apple TV (Gen 1 – 3) [IP] v111 driver.

09/27/19 07:24:36 : EVQ - Timeout while connected - Count: 1 on connection 6001
09/27/19 07:24:36 : Disconnected from port 49152

And an EA main controller....

Honestly the current IR driver floating around is so well made, and the new IP driver such a hassle, that we've just gone to IR.

Where is this driver?

Yes, it does break it, but u mean Gen4 or the 4K, Gen 3 is the old model that does not take TvOS 13.

The link no longer works but that's what it's known as for dealer's who need to find it on the dealer forums.

EDIT: Here's the latest post from the dev of the driver:

Many thanks, works fine, one caveat though, if you switched the input or do anything it will not default to menu like before, but at least am having control back via C4 ...

Actually, I have the latest IP driver, an EA controller and the latest AppleTV OS. While the Control4 pairing works, it disconnects every day or two, and I have to go through the pairing process again to get it working again. I’m very unpopular with my spouse right now.

I have exactly the same issue. I have to hard restart the EA controller every few days

Is there an IP driver compatible with tvOS 13? My dealer and I are not able to figure this one out. Kind of shocking this wasn't better planned for, as Apple is a C4 partner and AppleTV is likely the most popular streaming device in most C4 environments?

Yes, Apple Bridge driver and Apple TV 4/4k driver.
