I've used the Intrinsic driver at several client sites - have emailed them a few times regarding tvOS 15 support, no response.  So I'm guessing they are having difficulty making the driver work or something.  Unfortunately that doesn't help me or all of my clients who are calling/texting me asking why their Apple TV control is broken and asking for a refund...

Can you advise your email address or which email address you've been trying to reach us on? We reply to all emails and support tickets so either our reply is going to your junk mail folder or you're emailing an incorrect email address for us.

As per the email sent out to all our dealers at the end of August, tvOS 15 uses a different protocol so requires a completely new driver, and we therefore advised dealers to tell customers to remain on tvOS 14 or below to ensure control continued uninterrupted using our tvOS13/14 driver. If you didn't receive this email it's likely you either opted out of emails from us or it was delivered to your junk mail folder, again, if you can provide your email address I can double check this.

Our tvOS15 driver will hopefully be rolled out to our beta testers this week.

Can you DM me your email address so I can search the account to see if we're receiving your emails?

Pls include me in the beta, I also emailed support and never get a response back!

As per DM have sent you an email. I've checked with our Support Team and they did receive your email but as it was a gmail email address with no company name given they wrongly assumed you were an end user and therefore not eligible to beta test - apologies for that error.

Just to confirm, it's always best to submit a support ticket on our website and not email us. If you email with a support query you will be asked to submit a ticket before we can address it. Our support platform ensures our full Support Team have access to the full audit trail and all the details they need to assist you. It also ensures the query is received as you get an email to confirm we've received the ticket (which was the issue in the last case).

Hope that helps!

Hoping to get it to our BETA tester this week. The tvOS13 and 14 driver works as it always has so control won't be interrupted if the ATV remains on 14 or below.

Now that you are beta testing, any update on GA release?   I have two Apple TV's that family members have accidentally upgraded so I am now back to the pain of using Apple remotes to control the apple tv and the C4 remote for everything else.

Well the inevitable had happen, one of my kids mistakenly pushed update as this f;)$&n nagging message appears every once and a while and my Shiny 🍏 📺 is on 15.1 now, obviously I had to go to IR as am on HC800 and I don’t think we will see the IP driver updated anytime 🔜 no 📰 is not encouraging …

Sounds like a good reason to upgrade from the 800 and use the free apple driver to justify the cost. :)

Agreed. Nothing against the developer, but Apple is just one of those companies that are historically too experimental in their APIs and software for something like this to be reliable. And without mini apps as an option (or even a Roku style channel option for app launching) there's just no real value in the IP drivers (this one or C4's own) vs IR drivers beyond a hard to perceive faster reaction to up/down/left/right 🤷‍♂️

I like getting rid of the clutter or IR wires too - but I like not getting phone calls on things like a source control not reacting even more

The only time I get a call on an AppleTV not reacting to commands is when a client buys a replacement ATV and the IR location on the AppleTV has been moved again 😉

Last time I tested the IR driver, a few commands were missing including a long press of the enter command (used for accessing context menus) and the TV button (which is used to access tvOS control panel for switching users, accessing airplay settings, and more). Furthermore, I seem to remember reading that the TV button was IP only and never had an IR code. These missing features made IR control impossible for us as those features get used very frequently.

Is this still the case?

I'm not super familiar with some of the detail settings as I don't use an ATV personally (and thus also can't test right this moment) but I believe those two functions are in the driver, under guide and info (maybe * or # - again can't check right this moment)

If they're in fact not there - then yes perhaps an IP driver is needed. But if the IP driver constantly requires 'work' or some sort ... well than to me it becomes a limitation of the device.

Like I said, I PREFER IP over IR as a blank statement - provided it's a consistently WORKING driver.

If it doesn't then I'd look at alternative devices or setups for the function desired, vs trying to make a device work for the desired function (just as an example, if you want 3 users for an appletv at each of 10 TVs,  it may make more sense to have 3 apple TVs centrally with a switch and they're named after the user). In an ideal world this isn't required of course...but unless you find the portal to that world 😏

I had the same problem, but don't have a free IR on the HC800.   So I went back to the Apple remote, not ideal.
