msgreenf
Do you have the apple home app installed on your iPhone? Is your iPhone and your Apple TV using the same Apple ID?
Froggy1976
Hi mate, when yoy mean apple home app install you mean home kit? Both my apple tv and phone use the same ID. long story short, when i use to have a gen 3 everything worked well, then it died so bought a gen 4 apple tv. i had my c4 system upgraded to allow integration of the new apple tv, but it won t work. msgreenf
Yes. The icon is called home. You need to have that installed on your phone
Cyknight
This is why AppleTV is back to IR control for me.... The new method required for gen 4 and up is just too painful to deal with (not to mention, half the time end user isn't even around to get it set up)
Froggy1976
Thanks guys, I will download the homekit app and see what happens, otherwise, i ll revert to ir, which i am happy to do so if it s a lot more stable.. thanks again

Froggy1976
Great thanks. I have downloaded the homekit. do i need to add the devices to homekit. If i do a search on devices it finds my ea3. If i decide to add it it s asking me for a qr code or pin. Will thenea3 have it and do i need to do so. any advice would be greatly appreciated as i am going crazy having to flick between the c4 app and apple remote... otherwise i ll get the ir installed

Then after go on your phone > Control4 app > Settings > Apple TV Control > Enable Control ONHopefully that works. If not you might need to reboot your controller for the setting to take effect. If that doesn’t work, you probably need to reach out to your dealer and have him take a look at the settings. Just tell him you’ve added the Apple TV to HomeKit and that you do see the controller in HomeKit. Hope that helps and good luck Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Froggy1976
thanks guys. i was able to load apple homekit, set up the apple tv as well and add the function to the c4 app but it does nothing. I have reset both the apple tv, c4 app and ea3 but to no vail. when in homekit, i have it set up as my control4 system, showing favourite accessories bieng "control4 remote" and living room appletv(no response)"
msgreenf
You don't do anything in homekit app. You only do it in the Control4 app and it will take care of everything
CTO13
yes I had the new IP Driver installed and it worked, then I added CA-10 into the system and for some reason the IP driver will not work. So I went back to using Apple TV Enable on phone / home kit. That works for about 2 days then for some reason enable gets turned off on my phone then it stops working. Then I have to go and delete the bridge and ATV's from my project then add them back in then add them back individually then it works. Seems like every few days enable turns off and I'm not sure why..
CTO13
Once I delete bridge, then add it back in, delete the remotes in Apple Home, then enable the AppleTV Remote again, then refresh and it works.. Will see how long this lasts again, but 2 days worked then off this morning.. Not sure why
CTO13
lasted about 3 hours then lost control, looked at the app on my phone and appletv control was disabled.. not sure why this keeps happening.. i deleted the bridge, added again and now its working.. Cyknight
I would recommend to just go to IR...or you know what, just get a Roku.
brekfastb
Intrinsic has an IP driver that works just like the old one and doesn’t need Homekit. You have to pay for it but we’ve had success with it so far. otherwise i just use IR, homekit setup with the client is just painfulSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Amr
I use Intrinsic Driver 50 UKP, beauty of It it’s IP based, not dependent on IOS upgrades and will continue to work and require no hassle in setup with accounts and Apple shit!
