2N Doorstation and ONVIF Enhanced License

phantomgordon

Question

Would love to feed 2N directly into NVR. there are hacks it seems OR one can use "enhanced license". https://2nwiki.2n.cz/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=76089694.  Does anyone know what this "enhanced license" is all about? Who is getting paid? (2N? C4? ONVIF consortium)? How much is it roughly? Is it a recurring fee?  And how much does it enhance functionality vs. the workarounds?  Thanks!

Yes. I read the document. It seems to make the point that this is a workaround. So I'll flip it back to you: Did you even read my question?  ;) I asked, "And how much does (enhanced licence) enhance functionality vs. the workarounds?:  Obviously, the enhanced license does SOMETHING else why offer it for a fee? So, what's it doing and how much does it cost? Seems like these are reasonable questions

I pay $79/year for 3 devices with 2n Helios for their Mobile Video service.  I have a door station and my 2 cell phones.  That fee allows the door station to ping my c4 T3s as well as my 2 cell phones (me and my wife).  I just have a 2n Helios Video Kit so I am using a 3rd party camera but the license does open up a bunch of settings that used to be “no” and now are “yes”.  I recall buying the license from a random website back in 2018.  Looking through my emails quickly I cannot find the receipt but when I googled the license I found this site fairly quickly: https://shop.cie-group.com/shop/intercom_1053/2n-helios-licences_1087/ip-intercom-license-enhanced-video_9918.php

and yeah that price semi seems familiar but you buy the license, get the code and put it into the UI where it asks for the license key.  Pretty painless.  Is the workaround better?  I dont know.  Never attempted a work around

cool. I can't much googling for Helios. The mobile app you use: is it just showing 2n video or is it hooking into NVR and showing doorstation plus other IP cameras? If not, do you have another app you use to view other IP cameras (via NVR I'd imagine) remotely? Thanks

Use blue iris for NVR.  Use 2n mobile video to get calls from doorstation to my cell phones.

When people tie C4 wall stations or apps into realtime camera feeds, is C4 integrating with cameras directly or the NVR? If it’s the NVR, does that mean that blue Iris needs a C4 integration? Also how did you build your blue Iris host? Did you just use a PC? Or do you have some kind of rack mountable server with a disk array?

I have a asus computer running 24/7.  The blue iris website has helpful tips on how to configure a pc.  Most people use refurb dell business outlet models.  C4 is talking to blue iris.  There is a free c4 driver and also a paid one from blackwire.

Yes, I read your question and it was answered for you.  Buy the license, now RTSP and ONVIF are available for you to use for NVR's, touchscreens, wherever you want to send video stream.

This isn't a workaround.  Out of the box you can access http video.  You want RTSP or ONVIF for easier integration, buy the license.  Pretty simple to understand.
