Jeffrobinson1327
I tried the write up with using powershell and the link to update my computer (windows 10) but no luck. I am not getting an error like the description says that solves. I simply cannot 'Add' any files to play with the 'annoucement'. This happened after upgrading from 2.10 to 3.2. Very frustrated if someone knows another way of getting those .wav files onto my system. Or a clever way of playing my doorbell sounds. chopedogg88
I'm wondering if there is a bug in Composer HE 3.2, been meaning to post here about this...have 3 different clients having this issue since upgrading to 3.
malelan
this is a known bug that requires you to mark your network as private, if your network is public this doesnt work, its been in composer for like 6 years..
Jeffrobinson1327
I’ve done so. I’m not getting errors like the write-up says, but I’ve change it to what it says. When I go to ‘add’ it goes normal, but never actually adds anything to the available list of files to play.

Yes I'm well aware of the requirements to make it work, however this is something different. Those requirements have all been checked and as I said it was working fine for 3 different clients of mine until they updated to 3.2... malelan
ok, np , was eager to help as i've spent forever trying to fix that on a few occasions. must be a new bug.
Gary Leeds UK
I can confirm we have the same issue - So assume it is Bug
Chico
Place your audio file in this directory: \\DirectorIP\media\announcements If you can't access that directory, then your network is not set to Private.
Jeffrobinson1327
they are all there.
natejon
Same issues for me on 3.2. Have file access via network share and can add/delete but that's it. No files are found in composer audio announcement dropdown. Therefore can't administer announcements.
zan12uk
same problem after upgrade to 3.2. Network is set to private. Drop down menu cannot select audio files - no problems prior to upgrade. Any advice or fix much appreciated. Thanks.
Southerncentralrain
Has anybody been able to get this to work? I was hoping to change the doorbell sound to Christmas themed.
zan12uk
my tech fixed it but had to come on site - .wav file for announcement was selectable in composer pro but not composer HE.
Pmcmillan
Still not fixed for me in HE / 3.2.
JE23
I am still having this issue... Is there a workaround?
Pmcmillan
Your dealer can make changes to announcements via composer pro - just don't go into the announcement screen via HE or you can wipe out the dealer's settings. Neo1738
I do remember pre 3.2 I couldn't get files to show on drop down either but maybe try these things?
msgreenf
yes, that is what you need to do to fix it...a windows update likely changed the settings...
JE23
It wasnt the window update - it was the update to Home Edition. Sure, I can have my dealer do it but not reasonable for me to call them every time I need something fixed. Hopefully C4 patches this sooner rather than later
chopedogg88
I agree, I'm pretty sure this is a Composer 3.2 bug that needs to be fixed ASAP

I couldnt browse, and my images for My Movies didnt show in HE, yet they did on the OSD. I had to log into my HC800 in my network settings, and then it worked like a charm. Not sure if that's the same issue others are having. Not sure why it just started being an issue for me
South Africa C4 user
I’ve got a similar problem. I use the Yatun Modbus driver which requires one to save a csv file on the controller for setup purposes. This no longer works. It appears (in my use case) that the controller area where one saves this (drivers\lua\sandbox) has become read only. I have not been able to find a way to change this
msgreenf
You can't. You should have never been able to write to that folder. Control4 has been hardening the OS.
