pinkoos
Just curious if anyone has tried this? I may try on my Intel Mac to see if it works Thanks

pinkoos
Thanks for the reply, though I'm looking for experience with Crossover as I'm considering an M1 Mac and want to see if it works in Crossover (virtual machines not possible on M1 Macs at this time)
zaphod
I will now began asking my regular rant saying, why doesn't C4 rewrite Composer as a web based app so that it is OS agnostic? That way you could run it on Windows, Mac or Linux. Just like the Ubiquiti Unifi Controller software. Same thing for the PC based app that no longer exists in 3.X because it used Flash. anon2828
Yes. I have attempted it. Did not work for me. For those who don't know, Crossover is a Mac OS app that allows Windows programs to be run on Mac without running a virtual OS. In other words, you don't have to purchase Windows and run a full version of Windows either via Bootcamp (where you boot your Mac as a PC) or via virtualization using Parallels or other. It essentially translates the working bits of the program so they should run on Mac OS. Bottom line: I was excited at the prospect of Crossover, but it did not work for me attempting Composer HE 3.2x. Composer HE 3.2 release notes say it should work under Windows 7, but after attempting the install I get an error message that it will not work on Windows 7. Thanks for the detailed reply, that was very helpful though disappointing to hear that it doesn't work

pinkoos
Yeah, I don't really want to have to install a full version of Windows and Parallels and then C4, so I guess I'll just stick to keeping a PC laptop around pretty much exclusively for Control4
