Can you check your vacation HomeKit home to see if there are additional HomeKit users that the home has been shared with? This just gave me another idea around creating dummy accounts to share the homes with. Will test something and share back. I have to confess to never using HomeKit (except in as far as it is needed for the Apple Bridge driver to work) … However, I have today gone in to the Home App on my iPhone and checked and can confirm that I am the only user. At the moment, all of the devices (across both houses) appear in various “rooms” in a single home (from a HomeKit perspective). I have now added an extra home (for fun) and created rooms in the second “home”. Now I need to figure out how to move the devices within the Home App - probably very easy and I will probably never use this… so I really am just tinkering. We’re having this issue at our vacation home. I'm just seeing this now. Not only did I NOT solve the issue, but became so frustrated (largely at Apple for making this needlessly complex) that I switched to Roku and gave away my Apple TVs. Jason Curry
I'm posting this here because I've struggled with this off and on for years. I ran into other issues with my EA5 and had to do a factory reset, all the way back to OS 2.10. Did the factory reset. Restored a backup, ignored the error about being an older OS. Upgraded the firmware to the latest using update manager. Restored the backup again for good measure. All that fixed my main problem, but then ran into other issues, including the AppleTV remote not working as indicated here, and after uninstalling and reinstalling the OS3 app on my iPhone, I couldn't connect to C4 with the app anymore. I kept getting "This device is unable to connect with your Control4 system. Please try again later or contact your Smart Home Pro for assistance. (403)". Tried everything I found in this thread to no avail. Finally realized the Controller no longer thought it was registered although my.control4.com thought it was. This was my next steps: Unregistered my controller from my.control4.com. Logged out and back in to my.control4.com and got the pairing code. In Composer, Account Settings, Manual Register. iOS App still wouldn't connect. After hours of searching and trial and error, stumbled on the VPN setting under Tools -> System Manager. Connect to the Controller On the Setup tab, under Set VPN Host, choose Production, allowed it to restart. iOS App now connects and works. Went to enable Apple TV, it now allowed me to try and add to the project, of course it failed. In Composer, Apple Bridge, Actions did a factory reset. Went back to the iOS App, and now I was able to fully configure the AppleTV Controller and everything is working! I don't know if you HAVE to do a factory reset, as I said, I had other reasons for needing to do that. I hope this helps someone.
