LED Driver Spec for Control4 System

Recommended Posts

Hi, new to the forum and C4, any help would be appreciated.

My client is supplying furniture with hidden LED lighting to a new build Control4 install.

I would normally supply a 0/10V dimming LED driver to connect to a Control4 8-Channel 0-10V Dimmer (C4-DIN-8TV-E) see attached.

Install is using the newer DIN-RAIL 8-CHANNEL ADAPTIVE PHASE DIMMER C4-DIN-8APD-E, will this drive the same 0/10V dimming LED drivers like the one attached (Meanwell 120W PWM)?

Thanks Mike

Or use any number of LED smart controllers like a Shelly, MagicHome/Lux, Hue-compatible controller (Dresden Elektronik), or DMX if you want to get really fancy. Those are all controllable in C4. And often directly with Alexa, etc as well.

Thanks for the feedback, this is the first time we have been asked to supply LED's for a Control4 project, normally we supply large Arcitectural or Events project which are DALI or DMX where we provide the power supplies, controllers and LED strips. For this job we have been asked to supply the power supplies and white LED COB strips which need to be dimmable. The local Control4 equipment supplier cannot confirm the spec of the power supplies we need to connect with the 8-CHANNEL ADAPTIVE PHASE DIMMER C4-DIN-8APD-E.

I would stick to being under 200w of LED per output.

so you would go output of module --> LED Driver --> LED Tape.

you can use 12v or 24v LED, what you need is a constant voltage LED driver that also dimms, C4 modules can do leading edge or trailing edge.

Drivers: https://www.ukled.co.uk/euchips-eup200t-1hv24v-0-mains-dimmable-led-driver-200w-24v.html (Here's the 24v Version)

LED Tape: https://www.ukled.co.uk/led-strip-high-density-240leds-m-24w-m-24v-warm-white.html

This tape is really bright at 22w Per meter, with the linked driver you can use 9m of that tape.

Warm white @ 16w Per meter: https://www.ukled.co.uk/led-strip-16w-m-24v-warm-white-60-leds-m.html

I think that's all.

The fact that you supply Dali and DMX should indicate you know how to spec for led tape and drivers. C4 is just providing the power and dimming. . .

ALSO i see you Own? Work for? a lighting company... https://www.lighttape.co.uk/ . Im just amazed you don't already know how to do something so simple, if you can do DMX and Dali this is nothing LOL

Thanks
