Jandy iAqualink Driver Issues

Agree.  Obviously a large number of C4 owners have pools and there are really 3 main control units, Jandy, Pentair and Hayward.  C4 has not made pool automation important even though all 3 are list on the website as partners.  Disappointing.

Ok just got off the phone with them and spoke to a young lady named Alison who indirectly informed me that the new API should be ready by “next week” and the reason for it, is “they moved to a new server”.

She also stated that they (Jandy) typically reaches out to the home automation companies to notify them once the API is ready.

Anyone else contact them ? Curious to see what reply they gave you?

thanks

I was told this same response back in may.

Wonder how we would know when this does happen?

wish Control4 had more media and information to its users.

like perhaps an weekly email newsletter etc?

I understand that frustration and its equally shared on our end. Honestly and unfortunately that is what should be the responsibility and job of your dealer. It's a professionally managed system and this is where a lot of end users get left.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi

Does anyone know the usual time for Control4 to release driver updates.

The API has been available for many weeks, but its sounds as if no-one has heard any updates or even an ETA.

It could be that Control4 don't see this as a priority, which is worrying.

It takes them somewhere between a few days and never....depending on priority.  They aren't typically going to give out updates though so one day a fix wont be there, the next day it will.

Thanks.

I've since read the comment on the control4 tech site, and its not promising 'That work is underway but is expected to take some time'

I do have a RS232 Jandy device, which I removed from the system a couple of years ago. So will set that back up and change the driver over.

This is indeed unfortunate .

I asked my dealer and he has not heard anything.

I just got off phone with a tech support rep who initially stated that they are aware of the issue, but that it was a Control4 issue, not a Jandy issue.  He then went and double-checked and was told that the Jandy team is working with Control4 on the API.  Hopefully fixed sometime soon within next 2 weeks.

Q:  Anyone know why when it first stopped working the interface for the pool showed on all Control4 navigators but just didn't do anything.  Now when I go into the Pool control it is a black screen that says "This device has not been configured.  Please contact your Smart Home Pro."

I think the time it stopped working with the C4 system is about the same time they rolled out native Jandy controls for Alexa. In the past, I could control everything fine using C4, but since the new Alexa integration, I’ve been unable to control/monitor anything through C4.

There's an updated driver now in beta testing. This is using the new iaqualink API  and looks promising so far.

Hopefully there will be limited issues and will release soon

Thank you very much for the update .

if you can please let us know when the final version is available.

greatly appreciated.
