TundraSonic Posted June 7, 2021 Share Posted June 7, 2021 tvOS 15 is apparently adding a lot of control capabilities that will allow Siri and other stuff to better control ATV's. I don't hold my breathe given it seems C4 is slow on jumping on that bandwagon and has Alexa integrated pretty well. Hopefully they will though. Another big announcement, which might not have been noticed, is devices are now able to have siri integration. They showed what looked like an ecobee thermostat with intigrated siri. I have not read anything that leads me to believe there's any way to directly select and APP or "channel" on appletv. Perhaps someone will get creative with Shortcuts? Integrating Siri for voicecontrol is one thing - intgeration of the ATV to FINALLY allow app selection on it is another - but it'll all depend on what the API actually looks like as well Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I don't know that C4 is really slow on the bandwagon, it has been more of a case that Apple is very restrictive in what it allows third parties to do. And some of the Apple integration into C4 is unofficial and C4 doesn't like doing stuff with unofficial APIs - like Shairbridge. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
