audio matrix issue? no sound in any room when streaming music

Recommended Posts

the issue i have is that recently my audio on the system stopped working. it started with the iOS app no longer being able to control audio in the rooms with only 1 room playing sound no matter what room you selected. i'd say play on the patio and it would only play in the kitchen.  i power cycled the entire system and now i get no sound anywhere but the app says music is playing.  changing the volume in the iOS app doesn't make the sound go up and the mute button on the app is unresponsive.  doesn't toggle on/off.

taking a closer look at the system i have the HC800 controller with  2 amps that are fed by a 16 audio matrix. the audio matrix appears to be the culprit. after power cycling i can't get it to identify on the network. pressing ID button doesn't get it to show up in connections tab for the address/ip.   in general, after power cycling it and plugging in the ethernet cable from the switch i get no connection lights on either Ethernet ports. leaving it on and plugged in i hours later will get see network activity but i do not see the device on my network dashboard (ubiquiti unifi dream machine).  both the matrix and controller are on the same ubiquiti switch.   is it potentially a breaking/faulty ethernet port? i thought it should instantly show network connection activity once plugged in (flashing green/orange lights). it's odd that it appears not connected only to hours later start showing network activity on the ports.

i've reset and power cycled everything and updated ubiquiti to latest software as well power cycling all that as well with no luck.  that's as far as i got in troubleshooting and curious if anyone on this awesome community has any advice? thanks!
