Trying to integrate optima UHD50X via RS232

Like the title says I am trying to control the projector via RS232. It’s passing through a binary balun and plugged into serial port 1 which is set to null modem according to optima. Optima only has IP-based drivers but one had the option for RS 232 but it wasn’t responsive. I’ve also tried an Epson serial based driver just in the hopes that something would work (even though it’s a different brand). I theoretically only need on/off control.

I’m hoping to avoid building an IR driver since the projector is not one click off. I would have to pulse off, click left, then pulse off again.

I spoke to C4 tech-support over the phone and they said everything is wired correctly. I also confirmed that the processor, binary video balun, and projector are all using the correct pins (2,3,5).

Does anybody have any recommendations on what else I can try?

Modify the current Optima rs232 driver that you are using with the correct codes needed for your projector.

There may also be a particular setting that needs to be turned on in the settings of the projector.  Not sure as I haven’t touched an Optima in about 15 years.  The projectors manual will be your friend here.
