Automatic drawer

Drawer?

If so, an actuator should do the trick. You just need to find a power enough one to push the drawer open. I've done a lot of unusual things, but never had a drawer automatically open. Do you mind my asking what it is you're working on?

Why but impress my fan club of coz.

No,I've got a drawer which is kinda hidden with some important stuff in and I would like to do some programming around it for when it must open.

How much would this cost Dan, do you have a rough idee.

Does the drawer have specific dimensions? If not - look at cash drawers. Typical POS systems trigger cash drawers to open sending a signal through a ribbon cable attached to an RJ45

Really no a bad idee, thanks

Should be a piece of cake with a screw-type linear actuator, and a timed output from a relay (I/O Extender or HC300)

I would not use a timer. Linear actuator can be supplied with limit switches which is a more positive way of controlling the motion.

The Danaher units I've used are programmable for travel and possible don't even need limit switches once stroke is determined.
