rlstephens
Don't get it....you can add a "Network Storage Device" and point it to a remote device (like my PC) for audio files, but once scanned, it copies the files to the MC? Seems odd...expected it to "point" to the PC.On a slightly unrelated point, is it possible to get root access to the MC? is the password standard? slemay
It doesn't copy the files to the MC - it may put an index record of some sort on the MC - but the file stays on the PC if it's setup as Network Storage.
rlstephens
That's what I thought...when browsing to the MC via explorer, the files show...I assume these could be unix symbolic links...When I removed the files from the media list in Composer, it deleted the files on the PC...this sucked...wouldn't expect it to do that... slemay
I wasn't aware of it doing that - but I know it should prompt you to warn you about doing that. Composer will ask if you want to delete from the library or the library and the hard drive (forget how it asks) - so be careful on how you answer that.
