Broadcasting an audio source to all zones

How would one program a button to broadcast the audio source playing in a particular room.

E.g. I've got the ipod dock playing in the kitchen. I'm going to be walking around the whole house. I want all 12 zones (c4 amps 8+4) to play what I was listening to in the kitchen.

Is there a simple broadcast functionality?

Yes, there is a zones button to add one, many, or all zones to play the current source.

Works best with touchscreen devices (touch panels, ipad)

You could code-up a colored button on the SR-250 for "Party Mode". Set it up so that whatever room is showing will üse that current audio as the master source to blow-out through all zones. Or just do it for a particular source such as your IPod.

Is there a quick tutorial to go about doing this?

It's a feature in Composer. Go in under PROGRAMMING and select the media scene in question and pull-down the "based on xyz room" option. I think this will get you what you are looking for.
