slemay Posted October 12, 2006 Share Posted October 12, 2006 The problem is not that C4 is comptible with it or not, it's that there must be a 2-way serial driver written for it. If the MFG. of these devices wants to write that driver, then YES, the product will work just fine and stream the artist / song info to anywhere in the C4 system. Chances are, these MFG's do not want to take the time (or spend the money to develop) these two-way drivers and thus the burden falls back on C4 to do this. One can request it of them, but it'll be rated / done based on demand. If there is only one request - it'll probably never happen... but if suddently 100's of dealers and 1000's of users demanded it - I'm sure you'd see C4 develop a 2-way driver sooner then later. At this time, there is no 2-way driver for either Sirius or XM (though XM is expected for the C4 Tuner in the next 60 to 90 days and that is believed to be a 2-way driver as well). According to Sirius and I quote "The SCH1P2 is compatible with audio system controllers that include an RS232 serial port and compatibility with the Sirius protocol." All the information you requested above, song, artist, etc, info can be displayed on a TP. I actually saw a demo of this on a RTI system (I THINK it was RTI) about a month ago. I know Sirius has worked with manufactures of control systems for easy integration of this particular product. Take a look at the radio and then ask Sirius if that radio will work with C4 or ask your C4 dealer if they can integrate it.. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
