rydbeckc
So I am in the process of designing a system and one of my buddies has a Rotel RMB 1048 (8 channel) amp that he is willing to let go for next to nothing. i am wondering if I could substitute this for the C4 4 channel amp? Is there an EV interface for this? Would I be able to control the zones through C4? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
wappinghigh
I use a couple of 2 channel baby brothers of this amp with Zp90's. I think you'll find what you have on offer is just a power amp. No Ir control etc therefore no direct control with C4 or EV drivers. But it doesn't mean you couldn't use the 12 triggers or even simpler just leave it on and switch it's power supply on/off at the GPO using C4.The 2 channel version has line level analog on/off autosensing, but I'm not sure the RMB 1048 does. If it does, there is your solution, but be prepared for a slight delay before the amp switches on after sensing occurs. As for the sound and robustness of these power amps... no problems there...Hope this helps
rydbeckc
Thanks for the feedback. After looking through the EV drivers I am leaning more toward the Nuvo Concerto with EV so that I have full control thru the C4 system.
