wschroter
Now that the new touch panels have a mic installed, does that allow us to do some voice control of the system? I could even envision the system being two-way, in the HAL type atmosphere. It would of course require the system to be "listening" at all times which may or may not be possible in the current configuration. Does anyone know if the C4 hardware can be manipulated to run something like this in the background? I'm not sure what the app architecture makes possible. You could simply use a keyword to launch the command set. So the system would ignore pretty much everything until a particular phrase was spoken, possibly a little louder to be clear.Any thoughts?
RyanE
Currently, the mic is *only* available to the intercom functionality, and there's no way in programming to hook it up to something else, like voice recognition.RyanE

neil12011
I'm not sure voice control will ever take off, besides in the automotive world. People seem to like to be able to "hold" something, be it a phone, or remote. It's one of those control things that I think will always be with us.
