c44u
when I load the software everything seems to load right but when you open composer it immediately says it had a fatal error and must close immediately
C4RVA
Well considering the software is windows based you may have a hard time opening it with OSX . If you have your mac pro setup to dual boot with windows try installing it on the windows OS.Also, if you tried to install it on a mac OS you should go find a dealer because it's not likely you're going to be able to figure out how to program this system. 3fingerbrown
Does anyone use composer on a Mac booting up in windows on a regular basis? It seems like a hassle. I'm considering buying a cheap bare bones PC and sticking it in the control room just for programming.
dgbrown
Threefinger - It should work using parallels which is essentially a virtual windows instance running within MacOS.
thinslis
Too bad you can't spin up a PC session from inside your Mac OS.

thinslis
We posted at the same time... I don't know anything about Mac systems... can't get past that single mouse button thing... Sounds like they have a solution.

grayson
I run composer on a Macbook Pro using Parallels every day. It works fine. When I loaded it several months ago, I did have one bug with Parallels. You have to turn off desktop filesharing between the windows program and the Mac desktop. I don't remember the exact issue but something close to this. When composer loaded it gave some obscure, totally incomprehensible error message. There is a note on the issue on the Parallels web site.now it works fine.Grayson
well_armed
3Finger, its really easy to install bootcamp. And when its done, you simply hold down the option button on the keyboard and it asks you which OS you would like to use. I even default to W7 now.... ILoveC4
^I've thought about doing that just because I think the 13" Macbook Pro is such slick hardware....I just can't use a mac and haven't brought myself to go through the hassle and pay the price premium... AJ_
It is slick. I use Win 7 on a MacBook Pro with default Win 7 boot. The only thing I hate is the keyboard - no Ctrl key on the right side of the spacebar and no dedicated Home, End, Page Up/Dn keys. You need both hands to Ctrl+Alt+Delete and Home/End/Page Up/Page Dn. ILoveC4
I didn't think about those keys missing...that is annoying. So you have it setup to default to Windows 7?
