Raspberry Pi 3 with OSMC(Kodi) + Spotify Connect

Hello

I just want to share my setup.

Theres a pretty easy way to setup iR control of raspberry pi with OSMC. Im using a 38kHz iR diode on the GPIO pins. It cost about $1.

In OSMC theres builtin iR remote support via Lircd. Im using the Samsung remote driver. I took my old samsung TV remote (just as the one in the picture) and created a new driver and loaded in the codes on my HC250.

It works like a charm with some iR delay of course. Im using the iR blaster on the HC-250 since its on the same shelf.

Also if youre like me and dont get to run Spotify on your old HC-250 theres a way. Im running Raspotify in the background on my raspberry.

So I just use "Listen" and play the device on my remote and sound goes through HDMI to reciever. It works flawless and playing 320kbit. This is true Connect and not the fishy connect you get in Chromecast audio. You can change the quality and name of the connect device in /etc/default/raspotify

Setup remote in OSMC:

1. My OSMC

2. Remotes

3. Install for example Samsung remote if thats the on you gonna program in

4. Pi Config in "My OSMC"

5. Hardware support ---> Enable LIRC GPIO support. Choose gpio_pin_18 if youre using that pin.

Thats it. Create a driver. And you can now control your cheap media center with your SR remote or whatever :)
