  1. I don’t have any issues with C4 and only the chime has been problematic. I see there are plenty of comments of similar issues on Reddit etc which have been supported by tech support and dealers but remain unresolved. My setup is managed in house since 2008.

    I won’t give up because I believe C4 is a superior system to its competitors and with the exception of chime it’s just been exceptionally reliable and stable. Not quite sure what I’m going to try next though. Yesterday the logging was enabled and I captured intercom SIP traffic. I’ll have a look for the same on the chime. 

  2. After validating the setup/configuration of the chime alongside network testing it has become evident that the problem is with the chime doorbell and backend Control4 cloud services. The intercom service between mobile phones works fine. In short do not buy chime and look for an alternative. There are so many customers reporting the same problem. I’m a huge fan of C4 but this doorbell is a pile of sh*t. I’ve decided to leave it installed and just use this as a standard doorbell that comes through our ceiling speakers. What a shambles, feels like I’ve been ripped off big time $$$$. 

  3. This issue still persists, I changed from PoE switch to injector connected to unmanaged switch.

    I decided to take the plunge and upgrade the director to 3.4.1 but still have the same issue - the mobiles phones do not ring on intercom when doorbell is pressed. 
     

    I then decided to factory reset the chime and delete the driver. Added back into the project - still the same. 

    DNS WAN and LAN changed to public. Issue still persists. 
     

    The better half is pregnant due next week and is keen to get this working. Also I get reminded on how costly the chime was 😢 

    I’ve now started to check the logs but no real idea what im looking for haha

Going to Swap them out to Unifi g4 Pro POE, i know I lose the intercom but at least it rings

    Is your chime POE? 

  5. I do recall when I first got the chime I was so excited and I hooked it up just to test it in my office. Needless to say it worked every time, notifications and mobile calling was solid for about 4weeks. Also, I had very little latency maybe 0.5-1sec after press - quite impressed. This was over WAN. LAN was almost real time. 
    Home renovation was completed and I installed it couple weeks ago when it decided not to work. 
     

    i recall two changes,

    1. My director was on 3.2.1 and is now 3.3.3

    2. I am now connected to a POE switch (unmanaged) whereby previously it was using a POE injector lump

    im planning to test point 2 to see if POE is causing my problem. As said, intercom works just not with door bell. 
     

     

  6. I was thinking the same with updating the director but this would be my last option.

    Version 3.3.3 has been very stable and I've not had any issues/glitches. Network is solid with hardly any latency even when accessing C4 app remotely/4sight.  

    Our phones are UK T-Mobile/EE. 

    I was wondering if some of these old devices need to be removed. 4 of these no longer exist and i have disabled and removed them from the device list but they appear in the list under 4sight.

  7. Hello, 

    I've installed my long awaited Chime POE door bell last week and have been struggling to get this to work on our mobile handsets. Basically when the chime is pressed, we do not get a call on our handsets (IOS and Android). The intercom appears to work fine as we can call between handsets/accounts. Also, i have setup snapshot notification for the doorbell and this works well.

    Troubleshooting steps

    1. Removed mobile devices from Control4 Myhome

    2. Deleted apps from phone and rebooted before downloading again

    3. Validated Communications agent is working and GW service is running 

    4. Changed DNS on both Chime and Director from ISP to Google

    The state of play is the same before and after troubleshooting steps.

    Any help would be much appreciated.

     

     

  8. I’ve got one on order for testing. Just to be sure, I upgraded the controller to 3.3.3. I got a Shelly module which appeared to the simple route forward but unfortunately isn’t compatible with RGBCCT. Thinking to also testing the Gledoto 5 in 1 WiFi version tuya based. Struggling to find a good driver though. With the Gledopto you can use any branded led strips. Wondering if I could use the native colour wheel in C4. Also, I have a Lutron RA2 in my project so if anyone had a led solution for this would love to hear. My project consists of 120m of led multiple zones. 

  9. Hey Neil, Following BST time zone change I am unable to connect to the director. The director and system time are synced using system manager, but still can't get on. The navigators are also showing correct time. Would you be able to kindly share how you changed the SSL settings, as this might be the problem I am having.  

  10. ☹️ Really need some guidance please. Decided to upgrade hc800 to 3.2.1 and lost all access to the system via composer, and system is down. Wife is going crazy lol... was upgrading for new chime doorbell but looks to have been a bad idea. Is there any known patches for 3.2? Will I need to downgrade director to 3.10 and then install 2.5.3, apply director patch and then upgrade to 3.10 and run patch ? Any assistance would be appreciated and even better if someone can get 3.2.1 working 😀

  11. I have been looking on the market place for the Chime, great to hear really positive feedback. Luckily I'm using iOS so hopefully the platform is smooth with a featured interface. Wife is on Android haha. Finding it pretty tough to find, if you have any recommendations that would be great. Can't wait to get my hands on one :).

  13. Hi,

    I have been using Control4 for a few years to distribute A/V around the home. Everything's working great, setup and programmed independently. Now I want to further advance some features I am finding it difficult getting hold of Chowmein Drivers 😤

    I want to control 2 Sky HD boxes via IP (remove IR's from project) and integrate Plex Media server to the project, unfortunately drivers are limited to authorised dealers only. Has anyone got a login to this portal? is anyone willing to help out please? I am happy to configure myself so just need cost for drivers.
