Hi,

I am looking at using Shelly devices for controlling the garage door. The objective is to know when the door is open and create scene for auto closing.

Is it better to use the Shelly1 + AddON + RЕЕD sensor or Should I use the Shelly 2.5 in roller shutter mode?

You can still use them for automation but only to say a command and have it do that command. Can make lighting scenes like cooking, breakfast,  dinner etc.

Was hoping the intercom would work and I can use it for the different member of the family call each other when in the house.

Thanks. I have read the article on using an Android tablet for intercom. Will experiment with that next.

I am new to control4 and just got my system installed. 

I would like to use the Amazon Echo Show 8  as a kitchen display, does the Control4 App work on the Echo Show 8 and would I be able to use get intercom on it?

@Dabbi, great post. I can relate because I am also in the process of learning about C4 in order to understand what is the best way to get the whole house automated.

The house was not wired for home automation and such I have to use Wireless Switch. My dealer has informed me that I can reduce cost by using the Square Dual Load Wireless Switch and Square Dual Load Wireless Adaptive Phase Dimmer.

Are there any disadvantages of going with this option?

Also, under which circumstances is it best to use a Wireless Puck Dimmer to cut cost?

The  FIBARO FGMS-001 motion sensor looks like a good multi-sensor device. 

Any development on the driver?
