CCLAY
So no comments on the sound quality or fan noise compared to the old unit?
slemay
Fan Noise??? That wasn't a problem in v2 (that was the biggest change from v1 to v2). Sound quality is much better than the v2 - as it has parabolic EQs etc... now that can all be configured via Composer as well... plus more goodies... CCLAY
Nice. I still have V1 in my system and am looking to upgrade to the V3. So does the V3 amps fan slow down or remain idle if there is no demand?Chris
slemay
I'm not 100% positive on this, as we have not installed a v3 amp yet (doing two in a few weeks though) - but I "BELIEVE" they are fanless - ie: no fans at all. I'll let ya know for sure, when the first one comes into inventory in a few weeks.

tumult
for the time mine were on, I never heard any noise from them. granted, they are on the bottom of the rack and I didn't put my ear up to them.tum
str1der
Obviously the amp/switcher would be the cleanest setup but do you think it would be better to just do a few inexpensive a/v receivers instead? Say I have 16 in ceiling speakers but probably only 5 zones. The A/V receivers could also provide radio for these zones. Opinions?
CCLAY
Depends on what you mean by 'better'.From a cost standpoint, maybe, but you can't beat how the C4 amp integrates into the system as far as switching and seamless interaction.Chris
