Integration with GE Concord Alarm System

I have my C4 integrated with the GE Concord Alarm system but noticed a security flaw in the setup.  Near my exit doors I have a button that turns everything off and turns on the alarm to STAY mode(so it doesn't use the motion detection).  I realized that after returning to my home, hitting that same button (which scripts the alarm to press the STAY/ARM button and the code also disarms the system.  I confirmed the behavior by directly hitting AWAY on the Security system touchpad when coming home and it also disarms it.  Why is it disarming it when I hit away?  I would think the only way it would disarm is by hitting disarm and the code.

 

Is there a better way of programming this with a macro to achieve the desired effect and keep the button near my exit/entry doors.  For now I have disabled the button.
