campuscomputers
For some reason I can't seem to get the remote to work with the DCT6200 cable box. I tried the online driver, even tried creating my own. Went through all the IR learning from the original remote, but still no response from the C4 remote. Any ideas? henniae
Does the emitter flash at all. Are your connections correct?
campuscomputers
Yes the IR emmitter does flash and I've checked the connections, they are indeed correct. Just no response from the shaw box.

slemay
If the IR flashes and you're sure the codes are correct... then you must have the IR flasher in the wrong spot. Remember, IR flashers are NOT powerful - they are very weak (on purpose, so they don't spill over to other devices in the rack / shelf). So move it around and make sure you get it right in front of the IR EYE.
maniac36
What my installer had to do with one of my Shaw boxes was actually remove the front lens (concave lens covering the IR eye & display) and attach the emitter directly to the IR eye. One of the boxes worked with the emitter attached to the lens the other didn't. I have no idea why.............hope this helps.
slemay
Or try plugging it into a HIGHER powered port. For example - ports 5-8 on a Media Controller are something like 2x stronger than ports 1-4. This is by design.
campuscomputers
Do you guys know why would the IR stay lit if I plug it into some ports and not others?
slemay
Shouldn't ever do that unless there is a problem with the driver.Try rebooting that controller, just as a pre-caution, and see if it stops. If not - you'll have to get your dealer back in and make sure he didn't mess up the driver somehow.
punkrock
I would try a differint emitter first. they are cheaply made.
