Is it 120 Watts per Channel x 8 stereo or 120 Watts Divided by the 8 stereo channels. The literature is not clear.

We both are

The power used by the amp can supply 600w (assuming an efficiency of 100%) so equal distribution of power for 16 channels gives us about 38 W per channel. C4's literature will tell you it's 120W/ch but not when all 16 chs are solicitated at the same time.
