sfpooh
Another simple newbie question I'm sure....Operating components in the same rack as the controller is simple through IR emitters because the components are physically right next to eachother. What about TV's in each room? Do you have to run long IR emitters through the wall or are their "wireless" IR emitters that will send a signal to a "receiver" plugged into the IR port on the controller? henniae
There are many way to accomplish this. Here are a few solutions1. Run a wire from the controller to the remote TV. Hookup the IR emitter.2. Put a controller local to the TV. Run an Ethernet cable for the controller. Plug the emitters into the controller.3. Put a controller local to the TV. Use the C4 wireless USB in the controller. This requires a wireless network.4. Try to piggyback on existing wire. For example, Xantech makes adapters that connect to a coax that allow you to share the coax for video and the IR.
mjtoopes
We splice the emitters with 22/2 for long runs.
Mav-Jason
I've even spliced them onto coax... 2 conductors, is 2 conductors
