Integrate with BACNET Server

Hello to all of you out there!

This is the first time i post in c4forums so hope to have a good start!

We have been asked by a client to integrate there HVAC installation with Control4. The HVAC systems is controlled by a Tridium Niagara4 appliance called JACE. (https://www.tridium.com/en/products-services/niagara4#JACE8000). This product, apart from controlling your HVAC systems can also interface with other systems via BACNET, MODBUS, LON (server and client) and KNX (client only) protocols via RS485 and IP interfaces. We are thinking of setting up JACE as a BACNET server via IP in order for other devices, such as C4 controller to interface with it as BACNET clients, in order to read and write the published datapoints in Bacnet (similarly like control4 would interface with a KNX subsystem).

We would like to know if there is any way to install a bacnet client (over IP) to a C4 controller? If not how would you interface an HVAC system that can communicate via the above described protocols and methods?

Many thanks in advance to all!

Regards

Kostas

Control4 have a driver for fieldserver which is a BACnet over IP gateway.  Note that you will need to program the BMS system to be suitable for the driver's requirements.  Search the Control4 knowledgebase for fieldserver and you'll find the driver and installation guide.

Dear alanchow

many thanks for your help above!

We are aware about quickserver gateway and we will consider installing this if no other options are available.

But we are mostly looking for a bacnet driver for C4 in a way that C4 will act as a bacnet client to a bacnet network over IP. In that way a C4 controller would communicate directly with the bacnet network so there would be no need for an intermediate gateway such as the fieldserver...

Any ideas if there is such a driver out there?

Many thanks once again!

Hi Dears

By this way can i control Control4 actuators by BMS system ?

I mean is it two way integration ??

Thanks
