George
Hi, I was wondering if it is normal to have gone through two sets of batteries with the HTC remote control in a month. That's eight AAA batteries, it seems rather strange for what the remote does. Is it the little light screen at the top causing this? Very curious. Thanks. danlevine
2 Sets of batteries in one month is a lot more then you should. I would have the remote RMA'd. It's probably a defective unit.Is it running 1.3? I would check the standby time if so.Dan
RyanE
Also, was one of those sets of batteries the originals?I've heard dealers complaining that the originals that come with the remote sometimes are pretty bad. However, a fresh set should last a LOT longer than a month. I use one of my remotes every day (but not a lot every day), and they'll go 3-4 months on a set.RyanE
slemay
I use a remote everyday as well - and lasts 3-4 months too...
collomd
Make sure you're cat's not sleeping on it.....My second set lasted a week cause Max the Cat decided to sleep on it while I was gone (busted him on the weekend though).... On a side note, it's amazing how we've been conditioned to point the remote at the TV....My wife does it even while she's in the kitchen listening to music....Also, if you sit on a Zigbee remote, it changes the $#@$ channel...doesn't happen with good 'ol IR....
