burlcash
Will the C4 dimmer switch work to regulate the speed of the ceiling fan? The fan doesn't have a pull cord, it was supposed to use a remote - however I bypassed that. I am using a dimmer for the light on the fan, wanted to know if there would be any problems using a separate dimmer for the fan as well. Thanks in adavance
rsmout
No, a dimmer won't control the fan. Opinions differ on if the dimmer or the motor will burn up first, but one of them will not survive for long. Neither one would be cheap to replace and it will be a major fire hazard.A number of users and dealers have asked for a fan controller from Control4. So far, no products have been announced to fill this need.
lvs
If you just want on/off control, similar to throwing a regular switch, can you use a Control4 Switch (non dimming)?
