rgulley
I am in the HVAC industry. You are sending 24 volts to the a/c contactor via stat at the same time as the furnace.
malloney
The stat is wired y1 from stat y terminal to y terminal outdoor unit. w1 stat to w terminal at the furnace. G to fan terminal. common from ts/c to the common terminal at the furnace. R to R 24v. This stat energizes the y terminal on a call for heat. Works fine with old stat. mode set to conventional middle switch to fuel and fan switch to fuel. the stat energizes the y wire and w on a heat call. rgulley
Thats weird. I do not know anything about the C4 stats, but in your conventional stats, that is correct. I would need to see a scematic from here. If in fact the wires are not touching at any points of connection and the wires have tested out to make sure they are not grounded to each other in a wall, sounds like its wired correctly.
