  1. Interesting problem discovered with my HC-800 controller. I've finally added a decent router (Synology RT2600AC) and it is blocking my HC-800 from connecting to a Tor server at Mcguill University in Canada! Obviousy this cant be normal can it? The HC-800 attempts this randomly but really tries around mid month. My questions are: 1) How boned am I? 2) If I push the factory reset will my project come back from the Cloud Backup, or do I need a dealer to restore to last version, drivers etc from scratch?

    Thanks,

  2. I finally got the Foscam's to work - thanks to everyone for the all the help and dcovach for the driver.  I ended up going with the Foscam F8910W and it works!  Yeah.

Now, on to the what we wanted to do to begin with... I'd like to have it where when the doorbell is pressed (I have the doorbell already integrated), it will fire up the On-Screen in the Family Room or Kitchen (HC-250's) and choose the camera for the Front Door.  Is this possible?  I can have it fire up the HC-250 onscreen navigator, but can't seem to find the commands to choose Security/Camera/Front Door.

The only option I see is the create a macro that moves left one, select, select, right and then select.  Then it would go through the same commands I would do with the remote.

Thoughts?  I've looked everywhere, but I don't think it can be done..

A couple of programming features to add that I have on my system that you might like: 1) Pause media being played before camera display, 2) Turn on front door lights, 3) Turn on bedroom TV for camera display if someone rings while you sleep, 4) set timer to turn off tvs if they were off before bell push, turn off lights after 10 mins.

  3. It finally works! In the end I had no option but to upgrade to Windows7 and install My Movies for Windows 7 Media Center.

Everything else was setup exactly as they instructed, I had no firewalls turned on, my system was pingable and MyMovies and ComposerHE functioned fine on their own but could not talk to each other period. Before installing Windows7 I removed MyMovies completely using their tool and resinstalled .net and sql software from scratch. None of it made any difference. It appears to me that Collection management standalone is very different from My Movies for Windows 7 Media Center.

  4. I completely removed MyMovies using their complete removal tool and reinstalled with the second option to act as a server. Control4 still can not connect on my XP machine! This morning my machine had the following error:

My Movies Tray.exe has failed to start because MSVCP100.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

From what I've read MSVCP100.dll is part of the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable 64 bit package! I'm thinking now that someone at MyMovies was a little bit sloppy with the programming perhaps and the ExtraVegetables driver doesn't work for XP machines?

  5. Hmmmm.... this doesn't work for my system at all. I just get this message over and over again:

    08/16/12 18:34:28 : Valid IP address

    08/16/12 18:34:33 : EVQ - Timeout while connected - Count: 1 on connection 6001

08/16/12 18:34:33 : Connection lost, retrying connection in 15 seconds

    08/16/12 18:34:48 : Valid IP address

    08/16/12 18:34:53 : EVQ - Timeout while connected - Count: 1 on connection 6001

08/16/12 18:34:53 : Connection lost, retrying connection in 15 seconds

    08/16/12 18:35:08 : Valid IP address

    08/16/12 18:35:13 : EVQ - Timeout while connected - Count: 1 on connection 6001

08/16/12 18:35:13 : Connection lost, retrying connection in 15 seconds

I have retried all settings, added and removed drivers etc. It doesn't seem to matter.

My System: iMac running XP on Fusion with a bridged network card so that I get a static ip and mac address. ComposerHE, MyMovies, Internet etc all work perfectly fine. Does this only work with Windows7? Anyone here running it with XP?

  6. I have 2 questions:

    1) How does this driver handle TV series? Is that still broken with each disc or episode showing up as a separate video?

    2) How does the driver handle movies stored on my Sony 400 disc changer? I don't have a HTPC with WMC connected to the the Sony so am I correct in assuming no support? In other words manual cover art and meta data entry for discs on my Sony player?
