  1. I am absolutely 100% impressed with this system. Here's why: 1. It has amazing picture quality. In both bright and no light situation. You can see for yourself here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKexNhcI4GI 2. The software is very mature. I was able to get it up and running in seconds (although I believe that I am pretty tech savvy). It supports PC, Mac, iOS and Android. iOS and Android support remote playback (playback of recorded footage on the tablet itself). PC and Web Interface allows full configuration of the NVR. For me, this means that it can just sit in my rack and I can configure and review footage remotely. I was pleasantly surprised by how mature the software was. 3. The had a mechanism to setup the NVR with your router via UPNP, but I opted not to go that route because I have a SonicWall Appliance and to keep things secure, I was just going to VPN in. 4. They are POE cameras and the NVR has 8 POE ports. Basically, this means that you don't need to find power. You have to run 1 Cat5e cable to the camera and that's it. Mine is a retrofit, so it's already in. The quality is amazing, especially for the price. Panasonic will integrate and play very nicely with C4, but you're talking about 4x the price for the same picture quality. If you're talking about Costco, yes, that's where I got mine. That's what I ended up doing. I couldn't find a serial or IP driver for it so I ended up creating an IR driver for it. Works perfectly. I've been using the Nexus 7 sitting around the house with the app as "viewers". One Nexus in the Office, one in the Kitchen and so on. So currently, I have the NVR output via HDMI to a HDMI splitter (this works because the signal is not HDCP) then going to my Marantz amps for various rooms. For me, being able to see the video feed on the C4 interface wasn't as appealing, and I couldn't find a cost effective solution that would support this. For informational purposes, in my opinion, the SecuritySpy + EV drivers + IP Camera is probably the most cost effective solution for viewing + recording + being on C4 interface - but even that solution is pretty expensive. Overall, I am extremely happy with this system, and IR drivers work just fine. In the future, if C4 or someone decides to write an IP driver for Swann NVRs - it'll be even better.
  2. Hey Everyone, Just got the Swann NVR8-7200 with a couple 1080P security cameras. It's actually a great surveillance system. I'm just wondering if anyone has created a C4 driver for Swann? Either IR or Serial? Thanks a lot!
  3. I just looked at Eragy. They don't have a lot of information on how it's actually integrated. Do you have it installed? If so, how do you feel about it? Also, how do you like your Enphase system?
  4. Hey Everyone! I was wondering if C4 has standard drivers for Enphase Envoy Monitor? I would love to be able to to program, set triggers, etc. based on the output of the solar panel system. If not, does any one know if C4 integrates well with any type of solar panel system? Thanks!
  5. On the old one, does the screen press in? Meaning is it NOT a capacitive touch screen?
  6. Ohhh, what about the screen and battery life? How does the screen look? Is the angle pretty wide or does the screen look really ugly at an angle? Does the battery really last 5 Hours or less? Thanks guys!
  7. I also have the the MyHome app on my iPad 3. It does work very well as long as I keep it in dedicated mode, otherwise it's really annoying when it has to reconnect to the director. Also, I like using it landscape mode. But with iPad dock is always in portrait... I'm also a fan of a tactile button. Sliding a virtual slider on a screen or tapping the screen isn't very pleasing... So is the consensus that the 7" Touchscreen is pretty good? Average? Poor? Any recommendations on if I should get it or not?
  8. Hey Everybody! I'm new to the forum. Just finished wiring up the house for Control4 and was hoping someone can provide me with some feedback on the 7 Inch Touchscreen (C4-TSM7-G-. This is the one with the hard buttons (no camera). I'm thinking about getting this one because my dealer has a couple of them (used) that he can get for me for cheap (~$300). I've been reading that there were problems with this interface (Wi-Fi connectivity, slow, drops connections, etc.). Has that been resolved with the 2.2 update? The other option is to use a couple Kindle Fires in dedicated mode. What do you guys think? Thank you in advance!
