  1. If you're doing a conversion from surface-mount to flush-mount, you'll need a new flush mount backer box and a new flush mount cover. I also needed an extra internal mounting bracket for my DS2 Nini (a.k.a. 2N solo) conversion.
I read somewhere that the conversion parts are not available through Control4 but not positive about the that. I ordered the 2N equivalents (2N makes the C4 Door Stations.) I got the part numbers from the 2N website, did a google search, and ordered them from an online from a distributor. 2N is an Axis company and multiple distributors sell the parts; if it's a low volume part it will likely drop shop directly from 2N.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

That’s exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!!!

  2. These can be repaired for a fraction of the price C4 charge at any good local electronics repair shop, we sent in about ten of them so far that were out of warranty

Thanks I actually brought it to a repair store and it is a main power supply and a few amp modules.

We are not sure how to get the parts though. Any ideas as to how to find replacement parts??

  3. Those db9 connectors are not going to work since that is serial control. I think you are better off installing a rachio system and integrating c4 with it but it could be done with the relays on the controller

Yea. You are right. I was wrong that’s actually the back of the EA5. Does that sound more like it??

They never told me about Rachio. Let me see what I can find in google about that. Is that just stand alone wireless module or something?

  4. Hello, I am looking to control my sprinkler system through control 4. I had someone wire it but it doesn’t work and it looks horrendous.

It is currently plugged into the IO extender. I wanted to be sure the wiring was correct first and also see if there is some kind of connector that will allow for a cleaner looking final product. I saw some RS232 adapters that might help but I’m not sure.

I have a 4 zone sprinkler system and each zone can run 1 at a time instead of all at once. It has a 24volt A/C power supply, my research tells me that I only need about 200ma to open each solenoid.

    I have attached a picture.

  5. 5+ years means C4 won't do a repair usually, though I would have called it in to check myself.

As for the assessment it needs replacing (or fixing if within 5 years) I would say he/she is right, all red zones is a typical indicator. Assuming you or the dealer at least tried to power cycle it once to eliminate protection mode, it means a full failure.

    Thanks, that’s a bummer. 5 years is not a long time .

  6. Hello, I have a C4 system in my house and a few audio zones stopped working. I noticed that the amp display has a blue power light and all 8 zones have a red light. My other amp does not show any red lights.

I power cycled it and 2 red lights come on and eventually they all come back on.

Any ideas? Someone told me it is broken and the issue was a bad power supply?

The unit is 5 years old and doesn’t get a lot of use.

Can anyone advise if this is a programming issue or is it junk? Or repairable?

  7. First and foremost - congratulations.

Now, I'm not sure what 'monitoring' you speak of with the new touchscreens and IP camera's - the only thing that I can think of (and has been possible with the previous gen) is using a TScreen and it's intercom function AS a baby monitor - in other words, place a touchscreen (potentially a portable one) and set the intercom to a 'monitor' mode.

Now as for the cameras - the current SOFTWARE allows you to use a camera OTHER than the T-screen as the intercom camera - BUT audio HAS to come from the screen. So you could get a different/nightvision camera and use that for the video, but any audio functions on it are useless as far as C4 is concerned.

"Portable" camera's though are not really in existence that would work well - at least not in a battery operated sense. There's numerous wireless camera's though (as in need a powerplug but talk over WiFi) that can be made to work fine with C4 - HikVision, Dlink and more.

One example that I used: http://overseas.hikvision.com/en/Products_accessries.aspx?c_kind=1&c_kind2=2&c_kind3=154&c_kind4=161&id=4919

That camera on the link is perfect!! That's exactly what I am looking for. I will ask my dealer if he knows how to make it compatibile with c4. I am sure I'll be coming back here for help with that, I already know his answer

Otherwise, if I understand you correctly, another option is to use 2 portable TS's, one next to the crib and another next to our bed, and leave the setting to monitor, will it have night vision??

  8. The best cameras Ive seen are NEST cams and I chose to exclude them from C4, dont know if they have drivers. Easiest by far to set up and work always. NOFUCKING headaches.

I really like the NEST, and it has everything I need I was just hoping to use c4. But I really like this option. Thanks

  9. Hey guys I am having a baby in 6 weeks and I need to buy a few camera that are compatible with my C4 system. I needs to be able to work with the new touch screens which apparently have a monitoring function. Also I need night vision and a mic so I can hear the baby cry. I was told that the Lillan camera # IPR2522 would work but I was hoping to get something portable to put near a crib. I do have the rooms wired in the ceiling with 1 cat6 wire.  Any Ideas? I am just the homeowner so any advise would be great if it was in laymen's terms,
