  1. "The days of needing pihole are gone. Just use a filtering dns like adguard or even better (more customizable) nextdns. Setup an account with nextdns (free!) and you can add blocking lists and more. Very good, quality, service. Then on your router / dhcp server, push out the nextdns dns servers and you are set. On your c4 hardware, use 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 for dns and you bypass the restrictions. Done."

I have a  ISP modem/router connected to my Araknis before going into my C4 system? How do I set up Nextdns step by step without affecting the C4 system? I have no experience with this. These are the photos of my current setup...

    Thanks!

  2. Happy Holidays to all,

It's boxing day and I want to buy a hardware or device connected to the modem of my ISP (internet service provider) before going into the C4 router to block all the ads on my home network (Wifi and Ethernet), is there a such device that you guys recommend?

I saw there's one called Pi-hole, what are you thoughts?

    Thanks!

  3. Hi to all,

The TS-AM16 comes with features like each zone has two parametric EQs—one for speaker-level EQ and one for room-level EQ.

How do you setup each zone for each EQ (room & speaker) for the best audio experience possible?

How do you access to that menu from your iPhone with C4 app?

    Thanks!

  4. Hi Cinema & Sound,

I think the exact model number is C4-16ZAMSV3-B.

I understand that I have to replace the audio matrix but I don't know if it's the power supply the problem or the switch itself...

After replacing it, is there any integration/programing needed to be done by a dealer? or it will be plug & play...

    Thanks!

    Ian

  5. Hi to all,

Today I got no sound from my C4 system. The image is fine. I checked the audio matrix and I don't see any blue light in front. Is there an "Power ON" button. I tried to unplug and replug the electrical cable from the back but no use. The amplifiers seem to be fine since there's power ON.

    What to do?

    Thanks!

Why do you have 2 dealers managing your project?

Because the old dealer said that he was busy and he doesn't like the city traffic to my house...The other dealer is not too far from my house.

  7. Hi,

    Thank you for the answers.

Actually, there was an misunderstanding in the beginning that's why the old dealer didn't install the driver for the Hikvision cameras and I had to ask another dealer to do it. I think that the misunderstanding problem was resolved.

The old dealer passed by last week to fix the ethernet cable problems but I forgot to mention the control remote problem. I checked the remote and it's the right room but I didn't try with the NEEO remote yet.

The old dealer said that he's happy to help me if I ask the other dealer to release my equipment registered to the OvrC platform so that it will take less time for him and he will have to send a signal again to pair the TV to the remote...Does it make sense?

I tried to contact the other dealer but no response yet...

    Thanks!

  8. Hi to all,

A new dealer came to my house to install the camera driver for C4 and after that I found that one of my SR260 remotes doesn't respond anymore.

My old dealer told me that probably the ip address has changed and it needs to be paired again but he can't help me because the other dealer puts all my equipment under OvrC platform but I didn't ask for it.

How can I fix this issue for my remote to work again?

    Thanks!

  9. Hi to all,

I'm having local ethernet problem. The local dealer wired the whole house for the construction in 2016. Almost every room were wired with ethernet cable to be able to connect a Control 4 LEAF for the TV signal and there's also an ethernet port in the C4 LEAF for internet access but the speed is slow.

I asked the dealer for a solution in november 2020 and they installed an Araknis 24-port switch with the wall plates in most of the rooms except one. The local dealer didn't open walls and passed new ethernet cables then. I've just realized that there are two ethernet ports that aren't working in one room and to be fixed. Also, I'll need to install a similar wall plate behind one TV in one room where my kids plugged their computer into a switch plugged into the C4 LEAF put the speed is slow. I saw that there are 4 ports available behind the Araknis switch.

Here are the photos. I don't know if a remote dealer can help or I have to find local dealer.

    Thanks!

  10. Hi!

Probably most can be done remotely. I don't understand why local dealers need to come and see the existant system when they have access to everything on line like the remote dealers?

Remote dealers don't need 1-2 hours to see the system to program...

If I need to install a new component in the system, can a remote dealer guide me how to install it physically by Facetime or similar and they can integrate remotely?

    Thanks!

  11. Hi to all,

My dealer is busy and he's not interested to service me because of the city traffic & commute, so he politely asked me to find another C4 dealer closer to me.

I called two or three C4 dealers and they said that they have to pass by to take a look and evaluate our project for the takeover. Some estimates around two to three hours to study our C4 system without doing anything? Is that normal for that time?

    Thanks!

  12. Hi,

I have an old cable modem with the ethernet cable plugged into the C4 system and I plan to upgrade the internet with a new cable Helix 2 cable box that can act as a router too.

If I understand well, I will have replace the old modem with the new one and put the new one in bridge mode. The new modem will send the internet signal to the C4 system like before.

Everything should work like before and I don't need an integrator for changing the modem right?

    Thanks!

  13. Hi to all,

I had an audio issue with Hik-Connect so Hikvision suggest to upgrade to the new firmware in the NVR, the audio issue is gone. But after the firmware upgrade, I saw that the encryption code for live view has changed and I can no longer see live view with the the Control 4 system/Hik-Connect & SADP. I had to change the new encryption code to be able to live view with Hik-Connect and SADP Hikvision. I suspect that the new encryption code has to be entered in the Control 4 system?

Am I correct? Do I need an C4 integrator the enter the new encrytion code?

    Thanks for the help!
