  1. I actually do have a few emulator setups, a Launchbox/Retropie on the PC, Raspberry Pi, etc. But, there's a lot to be said for just firing up an old console and playing vs. going into the PC, configuring Retroarch, and all that jazz.
  2. Thanks. All systems are HDMI, not going that far back so no need for analog to digital converters, I don't need that retro look to be happy. How do you find local programmers that do this work? As mentioned, the installer I used 4 years ago isn't really around, is there some place besides Yelp to try and find someone that does this work?
  3. Thanks for the reply. Could you please elaborate on "a driver could be made". What exactly does that mean? Does it need to be custom-programmed?
  4. Hi all, C4 system was set up about 4 years, installer is difficult to reach but wanted to see if what I want to do is even possible. Originally, system only had around 4 devices (NVidia Shield, Xbox, Wii, PC). As my son got older, he's really into gaming and our device count is more like 12-13, includes older PS3, NES Classic, MiSTer, PS4, 360, and so on. I've jury rigged it by using multiple HDMI switches but looking for something more elegant. I've seen like a 16-port switcher from TESmart. But, currently, I can only select the original options on the C4, I have to remember which devices are on which switch. My question is: can C4 be programmed to recognize each device if it's on a HDMI switcher? Right now, it's set up to only recognize devices that go directly into my receiver, but as there's only 6 HDMI inputs on the receiver, I need to be able to add more devices, ideally choose them all from C4 without needing a separate remote from the 16-port switch. Any help/advice appreciated!
  5. That would make sense. Is there a way to determine which IP the TV has, what IP the Control4 is looking for, and most importantly, a way for me to change it?
  6. Hi All, Can't figure out if this is a Control4 issue or not, dealer can't come in for a few days and I'm thinking this must be something I can easily fix myself. I have a Sony STR-ZA1100ES receiver and multiple devices I can select on the Control4 remote (nVidia Shield, PS4, PC, etc). Until this morning, everything worked perfectly, I'd choose what I want to watch, the TV would come on, and I'd be good to go. Starting this morning (nothing changed that I know of), selecting the device I want turns on the receiver and goes to the correct device...but the TV itself no longer turns on, I have to use the TV's remote to turn it on. Same with the Room Off button on the Control4 remote, it turns off the receiver, but not the TV like it has in the past. I have Composer HE but couldn't find anything in there that would allow me to change this. Any ideas what could have happened or better yet, is there a way to resolve it without having to wait for the dealer to come back? I simply want the TV to turn on when I've chosen which device I want to watch from the remote. Thanks for any help.
  7. Just got a copy of HE. Is there a way in the HE software to see what IP address is associated with each device? I lost use of my remote control as I believe all the IPs changed when I installed a new router, so I'm trying to figure out what IP the software is looking for for each device so that I can manually reset the devices to those IPs (and set to static so that I don't have this problem every time my router decides to dole out new IPs!). Thanks for any help.
  8. Who sells HE? Can't seem to find it for sale on the C4 website...
  9. Thanks for your help. If the devices are all the same, the network is the same, I've done cold reboots of everything...what else could it possibly be? Pretty sure I recall them telling me that they were setting everything up with IP addresses..
  10. I would think the settings I need are in the C4 Composer that the dealer used the day they installed it, no? If I purchase HE, would it be able to see the IP addresses that were previously set to the devices I have connected?
  11. My routing table says that the control 4 was using a static IP. I still have the config file, are you saying that if I restore the other devices back to their IP (some were probably static), this will resolve the issue? I guess the receiver had an IP, would that explain the volume control not working? I can easily restore the IPs of the devices from the config backup, with the exception of the receiver since it was installed after I made the backup. Is there any way on the remote or in the portal to see exactly what IP the controller is looking for? Thanks for your help.
  12. Hi All, Sorry if this has been asked/answered before, I searched but could not find anything. I decided to replace my router due to an issue after a power surge. Same exact model (ASUS RT-N66U), I backed up the config and applied it to the new router. Everything works great...except my Control4. I can turn the receiver/TV on and off and it defaults to the first of about 6 devices I have connected...but that's it. I cannot switch to any of the other devices, I cannot control the volume, nada. The individual remote for the receiver works fine, so it appears to just be a Control4 issue. Tried it on my iPhone app but same issue. I wasn't here when they installed the remote and receiver, I don't recall ever giving them access to my router so the config settings I copied from the old to the new should have kept everything the same. I guess I may not really understand, how does the controller box (EA-1) function? Since my router is set to DHCP, it it possible that the EA-1 has a new IP that is preventing it from functioning? And, I guess most importantly, can I fix this without the dealer (I do networking and computer repair for a living) or is something they have to come back and resolve? Thanks for any help!
