  1. And Yes! cyknight, that is exactly the reason my husband is getting headphones
  2. My Installer came right out and it is all fixed!!! Yes, minor tweaks and he showed me how to change the settings on the Denon receiver to change what speakers are being used. I learned something and yes, he agreed the wireless headset that plugs into the jack will work just fine - no cords required. He also showed me how to plug into the audio/optical jack on the TV if I want to set up the transmitter by the TV but I think I will keep it simple and just use the jack on the front of the denon receiver. thanks for all of the help.
  3. Thanks OceanDad and Cyknight. Actually, Cyknight, I think your solution is best. It is similar to what our dealer said sans the cord. i still have not been able to bring the TV back online with the Denon receiver speakers. I had my Dealer working through it last night until my remote battery needed a charge. Hopefully we will get that fixed today. @OceanDad you are right, a headphone set with a bluetooth autoconnect would be ideal, but for whatever reason with how my system is set up, not possible. Thanks for trying to help though.
  4. The problem is, it sounds simple and it might be the right thing to do, but I worry about erasing the TV settings too. I am just going to wait for our installer to get back to me. Thank you for your help though.
  5. I am really afraid to do anything more.
  6. Neither remote works. The Control4 remote is inooerable and the LG remote is inoperable. That would be my segway into saying we are done. I am gojng to have to oay the jnstaller to come out and fix this. This is painful
  7. I cant use the LG remote to turn on the TV. That is the problem. When I started down this road,I used the LG remote to get into the TV to pull up the menu for the bluetooth. The LG remote, for whatever reason, will not operate the TV now. I do not know what happened and why it will not work. It was working u til I rebooted the whole system.
  8. The TV and the receiver are directly wired through a port on the back of the TV. Well, not directly wired. HDMI cable. Runs from the TV to the Control4 system.
  9. Unfortunately I can not get the TV to turn on.
  10. But heck, the CtRL4 remote does not work anymore, soI am at a loss
  11. Surround TV means all soeakers are connected. It is a problem between the TV and the receiver
  12. the denon receiver is currently set to Surround TV ( my husband just tried to make the system work too).
  13. This is why I am saying this system is so completely aggravating. I can not do anything. And if I attempt to do anything, it does not work. Thats just not right. I feel like I am right back to the days of DOS
  14. No control of the system using the control4 remote.
  15. The input for the Denon receiver generally sets itself but i tried manually setting it to TV Audio
  16. All I did...was set the TV audio to bluetooth. It disconnected itself from my Denon Receiver. When the bluetooth did not work, I changed the audio settings back to their original settings ( the one I started with) and tried to turn on the TV using the CtRL4 remote. The TV would not run its sound through the Denon receiver at this point, even though I restored the setting. So I then rebooted the Denon receiver. That did nothing. To make matters worse, the whole Control4 system has now gone offline. I did NOTHING but use the TV remote to attempt to connect my bluetooth headphones. nothing else was changed. Nothing. The Denon receiver is set up as it was before I tried the bluetooth. I am sorry to sound stupid here, I am quite well educated and dance around anyone’s computer...but this system is completely and frustratingly out of my hands.
  17. If someone would like to suggest how I fix this so I can hear my TV again, please let me know. This is incredibly distressing.
  18. How do I get my sound back on my receiver for my speaker set? Anyone?????
  19. I followed the pairing information from Toms guide to pair to my bluetooth on the TV. It didnt work. Also, now I can’t get the sound from the TV to run back to the receiver even after backing up and resetting to the settings I started with. I was very careful. This is a very good example of why I dislike Ctrl4. When I am super careful, even then, I can not undo what I just did. Now I have no sound. Argh!!!!!!!
  20. I also found these...which seems to be pretty standard with multiple options for hooking into the receiver. Would something like this work? https://www.amazon.com/Avantree-Wireless-Headphones-Watching-Transmitter/dp/B07CKVBWNY/ oh, OceanDad these are what you linked to! Ha!
  21. Oh wow, Zaphod, that might just be the solution I am looking for.
  22. Wow, thank you all so much! The AV stuff is a bit beyond me so this helps a lot. The exact model of the TV is an LG OLED55B7P-U. BUSYLJR I was wondering why a simple set of bluetooth headphones can’t connect to the TV. The installer/dealer said because we are connected to the receiver that all sound goes through the receiver and that blue tooth headphones can’t connect directly to the TV - essentially the sound is turned off from all transmission except the denon receiver. I have not explored using just the TV to attempt a blue tooth connection. We just had an issue with the receiver disappearing from the air play option on my iPhone. I could not play tunes from my iphone through the receiver to the speaker sets....I even tried The HEOS app and the receiver/ speakers were inaccessible. After calling the dealer...and so on...he left without success and the system...not sure what happened but I managed to get the receiver to transmit a signal via air play to my phone, as it had always done. Weird.
