  1. We had a Control4 system installed in our family room. I was using an Eero mesh system (not 5g capable). We never had any issue with it, except it started charring the wall. As we were planning to do a home theater in our basement with Control4, the tech we were using and trust (our current Control4 is awesome!) recommended a hardwired networking system with wireless access points. I was hesitant, but did not like that my walls were getting charred, so I agreed. The Araknis is way faster than the Eero, no doubt about it. It is dual-banned so we have both a 5G and 2.4 with a guest network on each. We are a week in and the one issue we are having is that the past couple of mornings, my wife's iPhone, work laptop, and our home laptop stop connecting to the internet even though it initially shows full bars (these are all 5G devices). Eventually, it will say "no internet connection." Meanwhile, our security system with cameras, our nest with nest smoke detectors, our amazon alexa's, all stay attached to the WiFI. To resolve the problem, we have to unplug the system and plug it back in. I thought we could just turn the WiFi off on the iphone for a few seconds and go back on and it would work, but that fails and we have to fully unplug the system. It strikes us unusual that this happens with the devices that move around the house (laptops, phones, etc) or leave the house like our phones, but the devices that are in permanent locations do not have any issue. My tech is at a bit of a loss. He turned on fast roaming and ensured that we do not have too much power at our WAPs. We have a tri-level 2500 sq foot house with 3 WAPS. I can get a new cable modem, as my tech recommended, but I feel like if the modem was failing, all the device would disconnect at once. Again, this appears to be an issue with devices that move between the WAPs or that leave the house and come back in. Interestingly enough, this happened at pretty much the same time the past two mornings. Once we reboot in the morning, we can move throughout the house and our phones and laptops stay connected. Appreciate anyone's thoughts or ideas...
