  1. Thanks Oceandad for the hardware and set up suggestions. IamFodder - here's what I am planning at the TV locations (we haven't pre-wired yet though): Family Room TV (EA1 location): 3X CAT6 to TV; 2X CAT6 to BDI TV stand (all CAT 6 going to switch in AV rack) Primary Bedroom TV (EA1 location): 3X CAT6 to TV; 1X CAT 6 to cabinet above TV (all CAT 6 going to switch in AV rack) In terms of blinds, I have nothing picked out. I only know of Somfy as a potential option. Thanks again.
  2. Hi IamFodder - thank you as well for your reply. I will try to provide more detail. The two rooms with C4 controllers are the main family room and primary bedroom. The cameras and DVR have not been selected yet. My plan is to have the DVR installed in the AV rack. I don't know how it will be connected to the network. In terms of the rack itself, it will be small - only containing a power supply, the modem, a 24 port switch (possibly two of these), a network controller for 3 WAPs, a router, 4 sonos amps, and the HIK DVR. But I'm not sure how exactly the DVR will be connected to the network. The EA1s are located at the two TV locations. Not sure if this helps?
  3. Thank you for your quick and detailed reply! So are you suggesting that if the C4 dealer configures the proper driver, that it is possible to view the security cameras at each EA1 tv location WITHOUT hardwiring HDMI to the EA1 units? In terms of wiring, I will have multiple CAT 6 cables going to every TV location from the rack. In terms of the AV receiver, it will actually be located in another room at one of the TV locations in a BDI unit (not at the AV Rack), so I don't think this will work unless I use a long HDMI to connect between the AV rack and receiver. I don't have the HIK DVR selected yet. I can still choose it. Thanks again for your helpful reply.
  4. Hi, I am in the process of fully renovating my house and I'm working with an AV installer for my AV equipment, which will include a very basic Control4 system. I have currently agreed to purchase two EA1 controllers and two SR260 remotes/charging base to control the main two TV locations in the house. I plan to use Sonos for music throughout the house (4 Sonos amps for music to 4 zones and a Sonos Port to a Poineer AV receiver for the 5th zone). My contractor will be installing Hikvision security cameras (4 cameras) with the Hikvision receiver going to a small AV rack in the basement. What I am wondering is the following: 1. How do I connect the Hikvision system to the Control4 system (to be able to see the cameras on the two TVs with EA1 controllers)? Can this be done with just the two EA1 controllers? Or would I need a 3rd controller (possibly EA3) to distribute to the EA1 locations? 2. Same question for electric blinds (e.g., Somfy) and smart lighting - can these be integrated with the EA1 controllers only? In terms of the Hikvision, my AV installer has told me essentially not to connect it to Control4. He said it would have to be hardwired with expensive HDMI cables and not worth the added cost. Regardless, I'm still interested in potentially connecting it and wondering what is the best way to achieve this. Thank you in advance for your help and advice!
