I have Josh.ai and C4 and am having some issues.

My current dealer is stumped, plus he's going on vacation today and I'm at the point where I want to fix some issues and upgrade the system (buy another Micro) to add a room.

Can someone point me to a few good dealers that know both Josh and C4 and can help with the issues I'm having?

Can I possibly list a few of the issues here to see if anyone knows how to fix a few things?

I've created a few macros to make things easier for me.

One example is "Watch TV" where I turn all the theater lights off, turn the projector on, and switch to the DISH Network input.

The problem is, the Navigators (Touch Screens) aren't updating and changing to the DISH Network remote control.

So then I have to manually press "Watch" then press "DISH Network" just to get the remote to come up, which defeats the purpose of the macro.

How can I program into my macros to have the Navigators follow the commands?  I have a similar macro for "Watch A Movie" and a few others that all exhibit this issue.

Amy help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not "stuck" on anything, actually.  I'm also not just trying to find "cheap stuff."

My requirements are simply a fast response time, fast wake from sleep, and long battery life, along with working 100% of the time and not "missing" any motion events.

So it looks like Nyce is a favorite and Philips Hue is an option.

Does anyone know the cost for the driver for Nyce/Philips Hue?

Any further recommendations from your own experience are much appreciated.

I'm not wanting a longer sleep time, rather I'm wanting an instant response/instant wake when the device happens to be in sleep mode.  I've had other motion detectors in the past that don't wake up and activate until I've already crossed the room and am in another room, and don't want that delay.  

If you sell these and can recommend them, please PM me with a quote for two to try and see how I like them before ordering for the rest of the house.

I'm having an impossible time finding the Card Access in stock anywhere.

The reason I tried the Shelly Motion 2's was because they don't go to sleep and worked instantly on motion detection, when they worked at all.

Do the Card Access ones go to sleep?  If so, how long do they take to "wake" and how long does the battery last?

I need a light to come on the instant motion is detected, or at least as fast as possible.

Have you tried any other motion sensors to compare to, and if so, you recommend the Card Access ones over everything else?

The link to the item above looks pretty cool, but isn't available in the USA (Although shipping to USA is available) and cost the same amount I paid for a used Sonos Roam.

I have to say, if the Sonos Roam wasn't available and/or if you need the size of this device, I think it would be a great alternative and one I would have explored if not for the Sonos Roam.

I received the Sonos Roam speaker (2.5" x 2.5" x 6" roughly) and had it set up in less than 10 minutes.

It works great and my doorbell problems are solved!!

Now I'm working on taking the "guts" out of a real doorbell chime and hiding the Sonos Roam inside it, along with a wall mount I got for the Roam on eBay, so it will appear (visually and audibly) as though the doorbell's Westminster Chime I programmed is coming from the Doorbell Chime Wall Box in the location it's always been in.

I really like this option because unlike a standard doorbell, if I had been able to ever get it to work, I was able to program a Christmas themed chime for our front door and a nice "Ding Dong" for our side door.  On "real" doorbells, you normally only get a one note "Ding" for any secondary door, which by its nature of being one quick note could easily go unheard.

Either of these two devices appears to solve the problem of getting a doorbell chime to work with the Control 4 Wifi Chime (the POE model will supposedly work just fine with a digital doorbell chime of any kind) but I can personally attest to the Sonos Roam option working wonderfully and highly recommend it for anyone else in this situation.

This may very well be the solution.

I'm still not clear as to what I can and can't do, using a combo of Serial and IP drivers.

Do you mean they won't automatically update or do you mean I'm unable to physically flash new firmware as well?

What is Embernet exactly and how would I know if I have that?

A little off topic, but does anyone have any inexpensive recommendations for a motion sensor compatible with C4?

I tried the new Shelly 2 motion sensors and that was a nightmare and never did work right, so I'm looking for an inexpensive alternative if one exists.

I've decided to just make it super simple and I ordered a Sonos Roam, which is a small 2.5" x 2.5" x 6" powered speaker.  I'll hide that behind the decorative doorbell wall chime box (removing the guts of the wall chime box) and if it works the way I'm hoping, nobody will ever know it's not a true doorbell chime box.

It will be in today and I'll report back my test results.

I purchased it used for $109 on eBay and am hoping it will be pretty much plug n play, but we'll see.

I ordered a Sonos Roam, which is a very small speaker (about 6" long and 2.5" wide and deep), and will be hiding it in the decorative cover of the old doorbell.

It's supposed to be here today.

I'll reply back when I have it working or if I have any issues.  It's the perfect size for use as a doorbell.

I've posted a few threads exploring a few different ideas in order to get a Westminster Chime digital sound when the C4 Wifi Chime button is pressed.  Through my research I've found that with other video doorbells, a simple diode installed on the doorbell itself allows the button to seem to be pressed for a longer amount of time to allow the digital doorbell enough power for long enough to complete playing the full Westminster Chime sound I'm looking for out of the digital doorbell device.

I have some 1N4001's and 1N4004's but don't know much of anything about this so I wanted to ask first if it would hurt anything to try using one of these to see if it will allow the digital doorbell to play the whole Westminster Chime.

Right now, it will play about 1 second of the Westminster Chime on the digital doorbell, so if I could just get it to have power to play for another 5 seconds, I'd have it working.

I'm just scared to try this without someone with some electrical knowledge confirming I won't hurt anything or damage the C4 Wifi Chime unit in any way by adding a diode.

I've been having a heck of a time trying to get a doorbell chime to work with my two Control4 Chime doorbells.  The only thing I've been able to get to work is a cheap $20 mechanical doorbell that does a "Ding Dong" but we want a Big Ben/Westminster Chime sound and not a Ding-Dong.

I know a digital doorbell isn't supported with the Wifi version of the Chime, so I purchased a very expensive "mechanical" doorbell (or so I thought) on Amazon and it isn't working either.  It just rings over and over and the Chime's don't get any power and won't turn on.

I believe my only other option at this point is to wire up a small amplifier and speaker and put that in the "guts" of my old/original digital doorbell inside its decorative outer wooden box that hangs on the wall.  That will allow me to conceal the wires, amp, and speaker, and the sound will still come out of the doorbell box on the wall.

Here's where I'm stuck and not understanding how to make this work the way I want.

I used Composer to create a doorbell announcement and went into programming and set the announcement to play when someone pushes the Chime Doorbell button.

This works as it should, but I have to pick a room to play it to which is where I'm getting confused.

The question/problem is, I want it to play this WAV file just through my new little speaker/amp inside the doorbell box from the EA1 in the Great Room (and since the EA1 only has HDMI out, I will have to use an HDMI Audio De-embedder device to convert HDMI audio to analog stereo audio via a 3.5mm small headphone plug that will then plug into my small amplifier for the doorbell to send the WAV file to that speaker) but I don't want whatever someone is watching or listening to in the great room to be interrupted.  I don't want the doorbell WAV file to come through any speaker except the little speaker/amp setup that will go inside the doorbell box.

So my question is, how can I make this doorbell chime box and have the WAV file play when the doorbell button is pressed on one of the C4 Chime units using the Great Room's EA1 but without affecting anything the EA1 is doing so there are no interruptions to the TV/Stereo in that room and instead only play through my new little amp/speaker in the doorbell box?
