  1. Hi all You may remember that I had the total system meltdown when my dealer added a Halo and updated to OS 3.3.3. Long story short - this was nothing to do with me (!), there were something like 10 driver updates that were required as part of the upgrade and for whatever reason these were not made. All done and now everything is working - apart from one thing. I cannot stream internet audio sources (Spotify Connect, Shairbridge) to the audio zones controlled by my audio matrix. Here is a summary of my system (four zones): EA-3 Living - audio outputs to an Onkyo receiver. Spotify etc WILL play in this zone, which suggests C4 is pulling the audio stream and outputting it (I've checked the EA3 volume settings, etc - all look fine). Other zones (Bedoom/Office/Bathroom). These use an AMC H.O.M.E X86 matrix. It's got power and the relevant zone lights up on the matrix when selected, as normal - so everything looks like it normally would, but there's no sound output. Unfortunately these zones are only set up for music (something I'd like to change) so I can't e.g. see if I can get sound from my Apple TV to output to them. I've tried the usual - rebooting, etc. I've had a look in the rack too but there are a lot of cables as an an end user I don't want to make things worse poking around too much. All of the network switches cables appear normal. The EA-3 connections look normal. I've searched the forums and tried the various suggestions. My initial thought was perhaps this was a driver update that got missed - some research online suggests: the AMC driver is the current version (1.1.117)- although this is not a particularly common matrix (and would not be my choice if I had to get a new one). It is showing the following log message however in the monitoring section of Composer HE: "Logger: Last Message: connectionProvider.bindingChanged(). State of binding 5001 changed but there is no connection defined for this binding" Spotify Connect driver is the latest - 88 - which makes sense as this works in the living zone I've looked at the network on my router - truth be told, I can't identify which of the items listed is the AMC (some show up named so are easy to identify - others don't). Any thoughts gratefully received. The binder message seems like an obvious red flag but I'm not going to speculate because there are many here much more knowledgable and qualified than me. There are also other bits of the system that might be relevant - again forgive my ignorance but I think the EA3 outputs using HDMI, so there's a physical HDMI converter which changes this to the inputs required to this needed for the AMC. I can't see any physical issues with this - powered up with lights on. I'm happy to do a bit more poking around physically but the AMC unit is REALLY heavy and as I mentioned I'm an end user so don't want to go poking around and inadvertently mess something else up. Thanks and I hope you'll excuse me starting a new thread but I think the other one had gone off track. I will speak to my dealer tomorrow (today is a public holiday) but while also trying to solve the problem I always appreciate the ability to educate myself more on how the system works.
  2. Thanks - and does anyone know if there is a Sharebridge equivalent of "auto play"?
  3. Oh and sorry - is there a Sharebridge equivalent of "auto play" - my girlfriend using Apple music so streams this using Sharebridge (I assume there's no more efficient way to do this)? Thanks again,
  4. Hi all - sorry if I have missed this somewhere else on the forums I'm trying to improve the integration of Spotify with Control 4 - I've enabled the "auto play" feature and agree this is a huge improvement. Now all I have to do is open Spotify, select Control4 as the streaming option and the music starts. My question is this - if I want to use the "auto play" feature in different audio zones (living, bedroom, etc) - do I need to ask my dealer to install multiple instance of the Spotify driver (i.e. one for each zone) - and if so, how would Spotify know which zone to stream to? Or would the Spotify app update so that it the streaming options are "Control 4 - Living", "Control 4 - bedroom", etc. Or can this be achieved through programming? I hope that makes sense - just trying to get maximum control here over the audio zones through using Spotify without needing to go through the C4 app, which I think most of us agree is sub-optimal. Many thanks
  5. That may be the case and if so fair enough - perhaps something inadvertent
  6. I tried the restore and then rebooting. no luck. I really like C4 as a product but I have to say every time I’ve had some upgrade there has always been issues and it’s a frustrating experience. I guess this is between me and the dealer but either way one of us is going to have to waste time and money.
  7. Thank you for all the replies. ive tried all the suggestions about turning things off. when it comes to back ups - the only one I had was from an earlier version of OS (yes, I’ve learned a valuable lesson about backing up more regularly). I could not restore this backup because Composer HE had to be updated to 3.3.3 - otherwise you are unable to connect to the director. So I did this, then used the back up (which would have been from an earlier version of OS - about a year ago). It allowed me to do this - but I am wondering if this is what has caused all the problems? Is it possible that using a backup from an earlier OS could somehow cause problems when applied to OS 3.3.3? Or should this be possible? If so, I am going to try the backup again. thank you all again.
  8. Sorry I should also add that I think the lights are controlled by a DIN (?) system. Essentially the entire system was installed about 10 years ago - apart from upgrading to an EA3 I haven't needed to make any changes and I'm preying that OS 3.3.3 isn't going to require me to upgrade a whole extra bunch of equipment.
  9. Hi guys - first off thanks for the help. I am sure I have made some of this worse and for that I'm truly sorry... Yesterday I received a new Halo. My dealer remotely updated me to OS 3.3.3. I thought it was all working fine - until I tried to edit the Halo buttons using Composer HE. I had to upgrade Composer HE to work with the new OS. ** Now everything seems to have gone wrong. I have a very small system. Here are the details: - EA3 - C4 IO extender - Two sets of roller blinds (240v) and a curtain (Silent Gliss) - About 12 lights - 240v halogen controlled by C4 - About 6 light switches - most important these are NOT the standard C4 switches. They are basic "push to make" switches (suited the decor better) - have always worked fine with C4 on the basis that it senses when a connection is made it activates the relevant lighting scene. Last night I foolishly tried to customise the Halo using Composer HE. Now almost nothing works: - None of the remotes work properly (Halo, old SR250, iPhone app) - None of the lights work - although in Composer HE I can see the levels moving up and down as I use the app but the lights are not coming on - None of the light switches work - in Composer HE they have a (?) next to them in the monitoring section - The shades don't work - I get nothing when I try to trigger them (there's a message about the driver needing to be updated - not sure if relevant?) - None of the audio zones work ** I SHOULD have test everything thoroughly and made a backup of the project as soon as the dealer had updated to OS 3.3.3 I'm an idiot; the Halo process just seemed so easy - a quick remote update and then set up the Halo. I've tried everything I can think of - resetting the system, etc. However this leaves me in very difficult situation over the weekend (and my dealer is closed): - I cant open my shades - I have no lights I can live without the rest for now but as you cab imagine I am now living in a dark cave for 2 days. Is there ANYONE that could help me? Willing to pay for time incurred of course - I wonder if just re-flashing the Controller to OS 3.3.3 again will fix some of the problems for now. I just need light and shades! ** FWIW - I'm not blaming the dealer - I'm the sort of person who unfortunately gets excited by new toys and is dangerous enough to know just enough to do some basic programming in Composer HE (which has been an amazing benefit) but this is Pro level and I've probably done something stupid. Based in the UK but can of course give remote access - send screenshots, run logs, speak to you - whatever helps. I expect that given the experience of the dealers here this is a very simple system but I just don't know what's happened. Any help really really gratefully received.... Thanks again Mark
