akg4y
What do the PoE cables that Control 4 sells look like? Does each one have to plug into a separate outlet? Im looking at having 4 PoE cameras, at least 5 4" touchscreens, and 2-3 7" touchscreens in my house and it seems like it would be a huge pain to plug in 12 separate plugs just for those devices.Would something like using 3 Netgear FS108P PoE switches (4 PoE ports per switch) work? Is there any other cheaper solution that would require only 3-4 plugs?
Signature
Here is the control4 POE adaptor. I would suggest using a POE switch with that many devices.
henniae
For this application I would not use the C4 POE adapters. I would use a FS116P. This switch has 16 ports and 8 of the ports are POE.
akg4y
Thanks, but would connecting 8 devices to a single switch be a problem with regards to the power distribution to each device? I dont know how much each device takes, but this makes me think it may be better to have multiple 8 port switches (4 PoE) instead of a 16 port (8 PoE):http://kbserver.netgear.com/kb_web_files/n101502.asp
