Problem Network File Storage with MacMini OS X 10.9.2 "Mavericks "

Hi,

 

I try to connect my Controler on a MacMini ( last uptade "Maveriks") to share the file \\192.168.2.54\Music, but I always have the error:

"Unable to connect to the Network share".

 

Do have an idea, if this the last update of OS X 10.9.2 have troubleshooting with Control4 Network file storage?

 

Do you have procedure!

I don't remember the tools that will fix this, but you have to install SMB1 on the mac to communicate with C4.  Apple has removed the older version of SMB which is necessary to talk to Control4.

I have the same problem on a install. Mavericks. How do I install SMB1 on the mac?

 

Anyone that have this solution that works?

To do this you'll need to create a nsmb.conf file in your home directory with the path ~/Library/Preferences/nsmb.conf. There are several ways to do this. First, you can up a terminal from Utilities and paste in the following line from the shell prompt:

echo "[default]" >> ~/Library/Preferences/nsmb.conf; echo "smb_neg=smb1_only" >> ~/Library/Preferences/nsmb.conf

The above must be entered as a single line with a return at the end. You can also create this configuration file with a text editor such as vi from the terminal. Do not, however, try to create this file with a word processor. You'll end up with formatting characters in the file that will ruin it for configuration purposes.
