RyanE Posted March 1, 2008 Posted March 1, 2008 There is no two-way serial driver for the Visionic security panel at this time.RyanE
norvell Posted March 5, 2008 Author Posted March 5, 2008 Thanks,is there any way to configure the powermax or create a driver or simply to recognize the wireless contacts or motion sensors?thanks
RyanE Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Not currently, unless you purchase the Driver SDK, which is quite expensive to purchase for making a single driver or two.RyanE
caribsecure Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Sorry to be responding to such an old topic, but has Control4 made the drivers for Visonic available in the meantime? Thanks
RyanE Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 There's no 'made available', there just haven't been any developed that I know of.RyanE
caribsecure Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Thanks Ryan, I'm new to this, what kind of effort would it take to write such a driver? Does Control4 offer such a service? Thinking of reselling both brands (Visonic and Control4). If so, connectivity between the two would be a must, so I should be able to arm/disarm the alarm via Control4 and use the wireless Visonic PIR detectors for lightning control etc.
RyanE Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Control4 has written quite a few drivers for security panels, but the biggest problem right now is getting it on the roadmap.Right now, your best option to get something done would be to either do it yourself, or look to a 3rd-party to do that kind of work (Extra Vegetables, etc.).Sorry.RyanE
RyanE Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Oh, and for an example, you can look at the GE NetworX NX-587E driver. It's pretty straightforward and could be an example for a good programmer to understand what's involved, assuming the Visionic has a decent protocol.RyanE
caribsecure Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Thanks Ryan, where can I find that driver?
