hehateme
When a new system is installed and configured how is the configuration backed up.Who owns the configuration? What is the best practice for saving the entire system configuration? The reason I am asking this is because if my dealer goes out of business how can I turn over the configuration to a new dealer.Do dealers work with clients who no longer have a dealer who installed the system move or go out of business? Mav-Jason
It is stored in any/ all of your controllers. Anyone with Composer can plug in and get your programming. There is a 'back up project' built into Composer also.
RyanE
Also, if you have ComposerHE, you can back up your project.I think you can even with ComposerME, which you can get at no charge from your dealer.Control4 does *NOT* lock your programming as some other vendors do, and this allows you to find another dealer if your current dealer is not meeting your needs, and also change your own programming with ComposerHE.RyanE
hehateme
It is nice to be able to back up the configuration and not be locked into a dealer. This is yet another reason to like Control4.I have heard horror stories about a large Home Automation Vendor where source code is kept by the dealer. Thanks
