Dueport
Does anyone have experience with the usability and reliability of the Schlage BE469NX Z-Wave deadbolt? It is officially supported through the C4 Z-Wave dongle but I’m wondering how well it works in practice. Does it look and act the same as the native zigbee locks? Specifically is it reliable and can you manage user codes as well as you can with the zigbee locks? Asking because I have 4 of these installed already so would prefer not to have to swap them out for the C4 zigbee ones. Alternatively, does anyone have them connected through Vera and, if so, does the reliability and usability work well there? Thanks in advance! Drake0508
I had one connected through C4 z-wave dongle. While it was super reliable through the previous Smartthings setup, not so much after I removed all of the other z-wave devices. The lock needs help getting signal of your a-wave dongle is far away. It’s a great lock but unless you’re going to add other devices, I’d stay away and use something else. I wondered if the very small zwave mesh between a few locks and the dongle could be a problem. Sounds like we had similar experiences with Smart Things. I wonder if I extend the cable from the C4 controller to the dongle to get the dongle closer to more of the locks if that would help. When you did have it connected to C4 was the integration like the zigbee locks? I mean could you easily manage user codes and things? Thanks again!
